I owned a a4 today!
Today i was chilling at my homies house today, when his girlfriend came with her friend, she was like i need to borrow your car, we were like why doesnt her friend drive. she was like she only has a quarter tank we need to go to south coast plaza, he was like whatevers and she took his car and we were left with her audi a4 1.8t. I was like dude, lets race. He was like okay, lets go. We went to the back road at the end of the block, Its cutoff no houses no dips no nothing. And a long strecth. So we get up and he said he will count down from 3. Im at around 2800 to 2900 rpm, Mind you that my car is completely stock and its a 5 speed manual, the audi was tiptronic. Anyways off the line i took him by about 1/2 a car, and i just kept pullin and pulling untill we hid 80 and we both cut off, i beat him by about 1 1/2 cars. I will post up a video as soon as a convert and make the file smaller. Yea i know its not a uber kill, buts it my first in my vic.

one day i was sitting at my computer and then my friend was sitting behind me watching my computer, and then he said dude click that link, i was like why, he said because it sounds interesting so i clicked the link and opened a thread about some race between some guy in some civic and a audi 1.8t and then my friend and I read the post 3 times before we could understand it, and then I read it one more time because it was so confusing and then just when I thought I understood it, I had to check back a few more sentences just to get the big picture and then five minutes later my friend and I came to the conclusion that you should learn to use more punctuation and less run on sentences in your posts.

Rep Power: 0 hahah sorry bout that, so the jist is i raced a 99 a4 1.8t and i beat it by about 1 1/2 cars, anyone know what programs are good for converting videos? its in 3gp format. I recorded the video with my p900. It is decent quality and you can see what is going on.

Rep Power: 0 actually the specs on a 1999 audi a4 1.8t with tiptronic and no quatrro is 150 hp ,155 lbs torque, 0-60 is 9.3 in a auto and 16.9 1/4 mile check the link. i dont think its a suprise that my car took it. I never knew they were that slow.

Rep Power: 0 You didn't mention it was a 1999, 150hp @ 5800rpm and 162ft/lbs torque @ 2200rpm (ouch, thats low)...3108lbs for the automatic. 1.8T didn't get bumped up to 170hp until 2001. Wow.
I suppose you may have taken him in a Civic, thats a pretty heavy car, which might offset that nice torque figure its got. 150hp out of a turboed 1.8L, lame, Honda pulled that much and more out of a 1.8L block years earlier. As for cramps in the leg, theres no clutch to push, basically in the Tiptronic you just floor it and maybe toy w. the shifter...

Though mind you, even though it uses a lot of aluminum, it still weighs in at over 4000lbs...

Rep Power: 0 My grammar was absolutey horrible in my last post. My inaccuracies should be punished by a whipping from a team of strippers. As you can see, my grammar has improved greatly. I enrolled in a program entitle "Hooked on Phonics." I recommend this product to everyone, especially members of the grammar guild. LOL, i wrote my first phone on my phone, the Sony Ericsson P900. Its for sell btw. And yes, i deserve all the flaming on my grammer

Rep Power: 0 i drove that a4 i raced today, my friend diedre let me drive and let me say something. that car is ridiculously slow. I mean wtf, its a audi i thought it would be decent. you feel no pull at all, even when im using the tiptronic and running close to the redline. I see how my d17 beat it. oh yea, i raced a new audi 1.8t with quattro, all i saw was dust . all my friends drive like 330ci's, clks, audis, 1 has an m3 another has a 2003 cl 600, is300 ltuned, lexus sc430, wrx sti, evo. and i got stuck with a hand me down civic from my brother, but i must say, i love it more and more everyday. Also each of my friends gave me 50 bucks to boost my civic. Total i got about 400 bucks from the ones who gave me cash. We are gunna have a photo shoot this weekend will post picks up right after.
