Auto 2k1 vs Manual Mazda6 S
As I was turning right onto a 2 lane road, a Mazda6 S blew past me but had to brake because there was a red light, so I pulled up next to him, he had his gf in the car, couldnt really see wat she look like cuz of his tinted window. The car looked stock form. So the light is red, and he is just sitting der revving his engine at me, and i wanted to go for a run because i havent for awhile now. So I sat there revving my engine at around 2k on my AUTO (yes i have an auto..) then the light turned green, i floored it off 2k rpm, and i pulled ahead of him alittle in first gear, den by the time my car shift to 2nd gear, we were head to head.. till 3rd.. he blew past me, and he was ahead only 1 car .. and it stayed like dat.. till another red light. Same thing happen.. he reved.. i just smile cuz i kno i will get smoke again. this time i took my launch off 3K, and my back end was at his front end, so i did a good job on launching =) then by the end of 2nd gear, he blew past me again.. *sigh...I thought the Mazda6 S is faster den this.. he was only 1-1 1/2 car lenght in front of me, and he was trying cuz i heard his tired chirp.

I doubt it was the 6 cylinder...dude u lost to the 4 cyclinder
6 cylinder would have beat u to the next light then came back to where ya'll started and beat u by 3 cars
naw but seriously I doubt it was 6 cylinder though

dont be so quick to call the mazda 6s fast they aren't all they're cracked up to be. i've seen both manuals and autos at the track and the manuals wheren't that much faster. i think the best i saw was 16.2 from a manual and 16.1 from an auto(tapshift) which was my friend jared's car. As for the base 4 cyl. those are horrifbly slow. A friend of mine first bought his 6 with the 4 cyl and ran like 17.9-18.2 all night long. he owns the v6 one now and is running high 16's. go figure
The auto v6's arent that super fast... MAYBE a high 15 in the auto. probably low 16. the manual's should be capable of low to mid 15's at 92mph or so..
I raced a 5-speed one when i was almost stock (Intake/motor mounts). By the end of the 1/4 mile his front bumper was at my back doors-- so they are pretty peppy. 222hp or 227hp i thought ... 220?? I think they have 222hp I drove them at Mazda rev it up event. fun fun! :-)

Maybe it was the four cyclinder with the sport package. My g/f has a Mazda 6 with the sport package and it has the S there meaning sport but its only the four cylinder version. That had to be a bad driver because the four cylinder is a little quicker then that. Now the V6 one is definately waaaay quicker then that. Driven properly, it'll give a stock Rsx-S a run for its money. I raced one when I had my Type S stock and it was even from start until about mid third, then I started pulling. The V6 also responds to mods pretty well.

Either that was just a bad driver or the 4 cylinder. The only way to tell the difference is the tires and the V6 badging, which everyone is starting to shave off. I had an Auto LX and believe me...our M6 V6 Auto would devour that car any day of any week of any month. I love playing with that damn Tiptronic Auto shifter...

No way was it a V6...i raced a modded V6 in my RSX-S and like the other guy said i couldn't pull till high in 3rd...in fact he got me off the line cause of his torque. I had an auto EX, they're slow as *****, mid 17 sec cars...maybe it was a 4-cylinder auto you raced? Else I just can't see it, even if he shifted right from 2 to 4 he'd have won.
i severly doubt the mazda 6's are 200 some hp cars unless they have the sports package, i'll ask my neighbor who owns one soon but i think the regular 6's have about 160-170 hp...
as for the neutral dropping.....thats about the stupidest thing u can do other than driving in reverse on the freeway, if u really want to race get a manual, doing so will allow u to do more and spend less in repairs!!!

As for neutral dropping, that is idiotic to do, pure rice.
