me vs. my ricer friend (sorry long but funny)
Well first off about 2 months ago, we were at Denton Dragway. At the time he had a 1989 Celica gts (old and rusty as hell). Well lined up and I killed him, I got a 10.4 and he got an 11.3 (by the way it is an 1/8th mile). We got back and he was like I missed a shift so we ran again and almost the same results. When we were done he comes up and is like man screw you and your stupid honda blah blah blah. I will beat you when I get my spoon s2000 engine dropped in. I just laughed because A. he hates my honda B. how is he gonna get the money for that and C. when did they start putting spoon s2000 engines in celicas?
Anyways yesterday he calls me up and is like dude you wanna come see my new car, it is a 93 civic that has a DC sports turbo. I just laughed and was like what? I just thought in my head when did they make those, but I just said nothing. So when I get to his house I see his car. I looked at the intercooler. Something looked fishy, oh thats right it was one of those intercooler look-a-like intakes. So he comes outside. He is the convo.
Me:I like your intake.
Him:how would you I haven't opened my hood.
(I pointed to his "intercooler")
Him:dude thats my intercooler for the turbo
Me: oh gotcha, open the hood I want to see it all. What kind of bov do you have?
Him: its AEM
(he gets in his car and is moving around) dude I can't get my hood to pop.
Me:Here I will get it.
Him: No don't worry about it.
Me: So you want to go to Denton this weekend
Him:No its not ready I have spoon cams coming in tomorrow and I don't want to race till I get those in.
Me: Well rev it up I want to hear that AEM bov.
Him:alright (car turns on and he revs the engine)
Me:I didn't here a thing
Him:It is a sleeper bov so people don't know you have a turbo.

Don't know about the s2k in the yota, but I do know Signal (I think that's the company that did it) swapped an NSX motor into their civic drag car. Sure, they moved the seats back, but they made it work. They also chopped the top as well, but it's a drag car, not a street car.

Rep Power: 0 Dude, i had the kindof same thing happen to me. Ok, i got a 99 civic ex and my friend thinks he knows all about cars, so were driving around and something smelled hot, so i stopped, popped the hood to take a look, and this is how it went:
Him="Dude, this thing has a tubo"
Me="No man, thats not a turbo"
Him="Ive seen turbo's man, i know what im talkin about"
Me="I didnt know that tubo's came out of the intake manifold, thats my short ram intake dumbass"
Him-"Oh"
He shut up for the rest of the day.

The AEM drag civic has an NSX engine as well. But come on, you gotta be kidding me my friend actually thought they made spoon s2000 engines for his car.

Rep Power: 0 there is an AE86 in Japan that has an S2000 motor in it...pretty sick and pretty fast, but lots and lots of FAB work done to the front end and interior for the Tranny. Any SWAP is possible...ONLY if you have MONEY

whats funny is that their are so many people like that who i know. it pisses me off when they think they know everything about engines. especially when they think they know everything about honda engines. i had 2 people argue with me that there is no such thing as a D series engine??? I mean all they hear about are b16s and b18s and they think they know everything. I actually had to pop my hood and explain to them about the D series. another thing i realized once i started to learn about hondas is that my best friend is maybe the biggest ricer i know. O well, some people are hopeless.
