the base rsx is nothing special at all. my boy came down from college couple of weeks back in his 2002 base rsx a/t. we raced about 5times and i took him everytime by a car length in my 2k3 ex coupe a/t. i have no idea why it happened. he weighs about 250 lbs. i weigh like 160. and i neutral dropped it from 3000 everytime so i took him off the line. and he kept in sportshift and i heard the car bouncing off the revlimiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. im sure a 7thgen with a 5spd will dog a base rsx a/t.

I bought my vic after years of roostin' down dirt roads in 4wd toyota trucks. The trannies in 'yoders don't take well to ANY downshifts without doubleclutching, even moreso it seems when the truck is in a full-blown drift. You get used to DCing after a while.
I'm suprised more of the AutoX guys haven't jumped on this one, they're the masters of heel-toe-double-clutch crazyness.
With the issue of vic vs base RSX; it's anyones game from a roll. From a 20mph roll, I creep on a Lincolin MKVIII with a 290hp/345lb/ft V-8 up to about 80 [at which point he blows my doors off]. (his power/weight ratio is about 6lbs/hp better than mine, or roughly 1/3rd better) From a stop, I'll have him through 1st gear and can keep fairly close up to about 60 before he leaves me like I've hit the brakes.
From a standing start with competent drivers in both cars, I'd say the RSX would walk the Vic. That is assuming that both drivers are at the command of a manual... If one had an auto, the other would get smoked.
From a roll, racing is a different game.
Clutch in.
