Question Most Difficult Mod or Repair

What was the most difficult Mod or Repair you have ever done on your own car? This would be something that once you were into it, you got scared as He11 thinking that you could never complete it, but you were already past the point of no return? But you did complete it.

for me i would say that it had to be the time i replaced the control arm bushings on a 70 corvette. i did it at home and i didnt have the right tools to press the bushings out so i took a propane torch and burnt them out. OMG you should have seen the smoke coming out of that garage! i probably started global warming. then when that **** is burning it like expands into billions of little chuncks that just spatter everywhere, almost like one of those black snakes you get on the 4th of july that you light and it just keeps growing? you know. That might have been the time that i was just bawling knowing that i F'd up my car and it would never be the same. But it worked out great! i had the best suspension on that thing, cause i took it to a professional after i removed it.

i also got another one on my nephews car which involved his air conditioner condenser.

ok, lets hear it. even the girls, have you had any experiences like these?

About eight years ago I had a Mustang GT. It was a heck of a car to beat the crap out of. Smash the gas and power slide around corners etc. Well anyway the starter crapped out on me and needed changing. It's actually an incredibly easy job with only two bolts. That is until they snapped of in the bell housing and a fifteen minute job became 12 HOURS!!

that right there sux, because the whole time i would be thinking how much i would have loved to have paid someone to do the job from the beginning, and it would have been done by now! but i always DIY if i think i can do it. trouble is, i think i can do everything.
