When you get a chance... give us a rundown on the rear brake conversion... A lot of us, me included, wanna know what the deal is... cuz I'm gonna grab the first set of EP3 rears I see at a junk yard.

Ok heres what you need. The entire assembly, obviously, a section of the brake line, It unbolts in the rear wheel well, and the ebrake cables. You bolt all the entire assembly to where the civics drums were, attach the back part of the brake line off the SI/RSX to your existing brake line, and run the ebrake cable. Your gonna need the whole ebrake cable, so make sure you get that if you want a ebrake. Originally posted by Boilermaker1

Thats about it, its all bolt on, no moddifying/hacking what so ever.
If I do a swap in the future would it be ok to give your friend and you a call since I live fairly close, or is this a one time thing?

He's only really doin it with me as a favor to me, cause my motor died, i just didn't swap. He said he really wouldn't want to tackle it again. I told him that there is gonna be intrest, but he said its a one time thing for him, mainly because its not his shop.Originally posted by Doctor

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, man i wish i had that, thanks for the extra pics.
i have a quick question. what springs are you using on the RSX suspension cause i see in the rear disc upgrade there is a red spring. what springs are you using, and just say you have and upgraded suspension on your civic can you transfer that to the RSX suspension? thanks in advanced.oh yeah and good job for doing everything on your own.

Did your car come with side airbags? Can you get those RSX side airbags to work?
Hey everybody got another update:
d17a2outlaw: Yes you can use after market springs on the RSX suspension. I had to use the RSX front struts cause the holes are different sizes on the Civic struts where they mount to the spindles up front. The only problem is i don't know if the Neuspeed Sports i have in there can support the k20, car kinda seems low in the front, oh well Tiens here i come.
Grey: no i didn't have side airbags, and i aint goin through any more wiring to figure it out.
Update 3: ok k20 is officially home
We got the wiring harness figured out..... we think. Now its just a matter of pluging and bolt everything back together up top.
Here are some pics i took.
this is when we were lowering the k20 in...
k20 in its new home

its a little low now

Hehe... Those RSX seats do have side airbags though, right? Are you going to tackle that problem down the road? If you are, then please post a DIY or something... I might want Si seats with side airbags if I'm 100% positive that I can get them to work.
Lookin' good though!

great job hawk. everything looks outstanding! keep it up
Awesome hawk!
I guess it was a good thing that your D17 engine wanted to try breathing water instead of air :P
Please don't tell me you're going to put on a CAI again w/o a bypass valve, I think I'd cry if you hydrolocked that beauty

so wait, you didnt need to adjust for different percentage of braking power when you swap in the rear discs? or is having the same breaking % as you had with drums gonna be fine with the discs?
also, not sure if you have ABS, but if you do, did you have to modify anything so that those work with the rear discs??

he used the RSX brake booster and and whatnot as did we use the type R stuff. abs sensors worked fine still

the ABS will work fine with the different brakes. We took the BRAKE booster/master cylinder off of the RSX, once again why getting a whole car owns.
the reason that the rims are bigger is because the stock rsx rims and tires have a greater diameter than our stock diameter
ooooooooh...that makes sense then. def. a good thing you found a full car.
yeah, post some more pics when its all done. man i want that under my hood. btw you probly already told everyone but how much did you get the wreaked rsx for???
it doesnt get any sexier. like i said before, a civic with an RSX identity crisis.
