Shaving the front bumper

hey....does anyone know how much it will cost to make the
front bumper smooth. There's an area made for the license plate
to be held but i wanna drive without my front tags. So i wanna
shave the front bumper. for some reason 2k1 starting adding the part
for the front tags.

an easy solution would be buying a new tsunami kit....but imma save
money for performance before i go for show

Well, think about it. They first have to take off the front bumper. Then they have to shave it off. That requires a lot of time. Then they have to glue something behind the holes they create with the shaving. Yes, there will be holes. Then they have to fill it with bondo or something that's meant for plastic. Then wait for that to dry. then sand it. Then maybe do some final filling. Then use adhesion promotor around the edges. Then prime it. Then paint it. then clearcoat it. Maybe even painting the whole thing to get the paint to match up. That's a lot of work!

a honda mechanic and another mechanic at some other body shop both told me that whenever they have to mix paint (which theyre gonna have to do for a shaved bumper) thats an automatic $500-$600. that was a year ago tho, but i doubt paint prices went down all that much.

I almost did that before I sold all my stuff. If you want it done right and not have it look like sh#! it will be at least $300 maybe even a little more. My best friend owns a body shop and he does shavings for $200-$300 a piece (thats start to finish all paint included). I asked him one time to shave my bumper and he said he would rather shave my door handles for $300 than mess with that bumper.

im pretty sure you can shave it yourself...sand it...etc....

just get that biznatch painted...a good "hook up" body shop can let it go for like $150
(but you have to have the hook up!)
