If you seen my previous thread, you would have seen my 96 civic. It was a sedan with a d16y8 dropped into it. I was forced to sell since my grandma was diagnosed with cancer so I could make sure she was in comfort during her final days, because it was quick from diagnosis.
The reason why I got another civic is because I took advantage of the used car market. My Camaro only had a $1,200 depreciation from the price that I purchased it at after 3 years and 53k miles (The current used car market is a sellers market) and I simply need a new daily.
I learned from my mistakes and put a good budget together this time, but I also covered my basis by keeping close with some hobby mechanics. Any problem I may face will be dealt with, and I prepared for the worst.
This is a 98 civic coupe. 5 speed, and is in need of love.
Currently on 2 rims and 2 steelies due to it's suspension setup. The previous owner traded rims and couldn't swap the suspension before a family emergency.
Oil and Coolant are gucci.
Currently have Maxpeedingrods coilovers, An O2 sensor, and a VTEC Solenoid gasket on order. We will be performing a compression test and then go from there. if it passes the test, then we can just fast track the build and get it 100% in a few weeks. (the real holdback will be getting the parts in and having time to work on it.)
Glad to see you've put together a better budget (although the coilovers don't entirely show it). Did you purchase an OEM O2 sensor? That may give you problems down the road if it isn't. Is this an EX?
I'm already in because it looks to be my favorite Honda (car) color of all time. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun.
I've partnered with Zensu Autoworkz in Orlando, FL and this is a build that we're doing from start to finish.
Today we put on the new coilovers, replaced the O2 sensor, rebuilt the VTEC Solenoid, Ran a compression test, changed all the spark plugs, and took care of all the CEL codes.
The civic runs noticeably better and is actually quicker than my previous one.
However cylinder #4 is low on compression. After some inspection such as inspecting the plug and listening to the noises, we determined that the issue lies within the cylinder head and a remanufactured head is currently on the way.
I currently have 30+ car parts ordered and on the way!

Where did you get it? Did you buy it yourself?
Yeah. It was literally the first part that I bought for the civic.
I'm getting ready to do an overhaul on it on Tuesday and it's going to be an all day thing. If you want, I'll send you a pic of the car with all the parts laid out. It's gonna be pretty epic.

It's been a week's worth of complete bust *** work. This was with the help of Zensu Autoworks in Orlando, FL.
We nearly rebuilt the car and the end result was definitely worth it. Interior is next and then some quality of life improvements. Engine is running at 150PSI on all 4 cylinders!!!! HALLALUJER!
Still got more to write, but I'm tired. Better pictures to come soon!
All I'm doing this week is having the headliner professionally redone and an alignment.
New centercaps went on the rims and got some new neo chrome lugnuts going on soon too.
The Civic came out well. Now it's just quality of life improvements.
Geez... Ive gotta ask how are you slammed on maxpeedingrods? Did you install shorter springs on the front coilovers? And how did you fix the coilover clunk? Just trying to make these work on my vehicle lol

They seem to fit way better on the 6th gens than the 7th gens, just from looking at pics of both.

Put coilover in > ???? > profit.
Fit like a glove with no issues. Actually gotta raise the front by .25-.50" because the fender is snacking on my front right tire.
$200 for a door panel?!
Was it made of solid gold?
No.
Problem is door panels are a finite commodity and are dwindling. You can see prices of door panels be $400 on ebay in tact before shipping.
In my area, if they are under 400, they get snatched ASAP. I was ****ing lucky.
