My 1st Car...
My 1st Car...
What up guys i'm only 16 years old and i have a passion for cars. I grew up always around mechanics so i've learned my fair share on working on cars. Everything that has been done to my civic has been done by me. It's a 01 Civic Coupe LX. So far i have:
Exterior: 17'' Low pro Fusion rims
LED spoiler
LED tails (NO they are not Altezzas)
Black headlights
20% Tint all around
Type R front grill with sedan radiator cover
shaved trunk except H emblem
I.C.E.: Sony Deck
2 12'' Pioneer Subs
Rockford Fosgate Amp
LED footwell lighting
Engine: Just an AEM v2 intake
Future: Black paint tail lights NOT cheap tint (next weekend)
Maybe 2'' drop all around (it's already hard to get up my driveway)
Lip Kit
Black gas tank lid
build a custom box so i can also fit my new JL Audio 12w7

Welcome to the site!Car looks real nice. Not too sure if I like your tail lights though.Your Civic looks alright without a drop actually, but a drop would make it better.lol

Re: My 1st Car...
lol. that dub-7's gonna shatter your rear window
just playin. But yea, not feelin the tails. If you paint the lip of the front grill, I think it'll look better. It'll still give you the black/silver contrast, but more of a subtle way. Definitely feelin' a drop, if you're worried about scraping getting into a driveway, go up it at a diagonal or go for a more subtle 1.5" drop
it also looks like you're running lower profile tires than you rightfully should be.. Just sayin.. If you get the proper size tire, it'll give you a comfier ride, better handling, and it'll mess with your speedometer less/indicate actual mileage more accurately.

Re: My 1st Car...
The OP said he was gonna paint the gas door black to match the door handles and mirrors.Kenny here said to not paint the gas door black and just paint the handles and mirrors to match the car color.

Oh and i'm also thinkin about swappin the rear bumper for a 04/05 coupe bumper. What do you guys think on how it would look or just get a rear lip

Re: My 1st Car...
I just know pronunciation. Lol.. my credibility on all things fast and furious just went down the drain
And I do believe I said I skimmed instead of properly read, and admitted "reading pwns me" lol
And I retracted that statement.
Back on topic now. If you wanna go with the black/silver look, by all means. IMO, it'd just look like you had to replace stuff and were too lazy to paint it..
silver/carbon fiber, on the other hand, is a different story, because carbon fiber would have the weave pattern.. Just my 2¢

Re: My 1st Car...
You're car is really nice. I'm sure you're proud, especially at such a young age. I wouldn't drop it so much. Like riceboy said, i'd go with 1.5" or even just 1". Especially if you are already having problems pulling up and out of your driveway. The color scheme is up to you really. If you are digging black on silver, do it up. Make your ride the way you want it.

Re: My 1st Car...
Thanks guys. And yah I used to work at Sonic but not anymore they cut all my hours down
So i'm really debating on whether or not i will CF my gas lid. How would i get it CF should i take it somewhere and get a quote? Also how do you think it would look with an 04/05 coupe bumper instead of a lip

Get rid of the ricey tail lights. Looks alright otherwise. Don't drop it 2 inches, thats going to make the ride very uncomfortable and you will shatter some type of body work within a month guaranteed.
Other then that tell us, manual or automatic? how much did you pay and what mileage is on it?
