New goodies showed up today for the Project SI thanks to the kind people at Ultra Racing. They have jumped on board with the Project SI to help stiffen up the SI quite a bit. Look for an update through the weekend as we install the many parts.
Here is the list of parts being installed:
Front Sway (25mm)
Reat Sway (19mm)
Front Fender Braces
Front Strut Bar
Rear Cross Bar
Interior Cross Bar
Front Lower Brace
Middle Lower Brace
Rear Lower Brace
Side Lower Brace

25x19 F/R sways? is it enough for the 8th gen?
I use 25(?)x22 (stock/progress in me 7th gen with stiffer springs in the rear (pro-kit - not too much, i know...)
Front fender braces? That is likely the boss frogs for the miata, i would guess. very good for stiffening the chassis.

Right now I run 30/22 F/R in the sways and car has some good push to it. 25/19 is still slightly larger than stock and should work well with the other additions going on to the car. I have an event next weekend so I will quickly find out how the sways work, ha.

May 5th, 2011 - Dyno Session
With the race season under full swing, I figured it would be time to see what my current power was at. Having only dynoed the Project SI when it was stock and with the addition of only the Go Power Motorsports 3" exhaust, I was excited to see what the results would be with the addition of the Go Power Motorsports 575 Header.
Numbers:
Stock - 180.93whp / 128.92trq
w/Exhaust - 185.05whp / 134.13trq
w/Exhaust+Header - 201.36whp / 143.31trq
Great numbers, now I need to work on an Intake and Flash to really wake the motor up!!!!
Here is the dyno graph:

May 18th, 2011 - Kumho Tire Partnership
I am excited to announce the partnership with Kumho Tire as they will help to add a new level of grip to the NWMotiv Project SI. Currently the Project SI runs a Kumho V-710 245/40/17 tire for just autocross events, with the addition of the partnership of Kumho Tire, the Project SI will run these same tires at other various events throughout the racing season. We will put these tires to the test for performance and durability throughout the 2011 season and into the 2012 season. Our thanks go out to Kumho Tire for becoming part of the Project SI team and look forward to more successful event results in the 2011 season.
Kumho Tire USA - Kumho Tires has been in business now for over 50 years and has dedicated to bring the feeling of safety and performance to their customers. Driven by innovation Kumho Tire has become one of the worlds top tire companies. http://www.kumhotireusa.com

May 28th, 2011 - Firebird Raceway Sport Compact Series
This past weekend was the make up event for our 1st Sport Compact event that was rained out. Small turnout this year for the class, but still was a blast to take the SI down the track. To start the day the track gave us 1 trial pass to dial in our times for the day, I couldn't of been happier...finally got the SI out of the 15 second club by running a 14.98 at 94mph (2.3 60ft, lol). With already winning prior to the rain out we started right at the semi-finals....the Golf I was paired with dialed in at a 14.6, so I went 14.8. Right out the gate I had him on the tree and at the top end, moving on to the finals. Finals I was paired up against a multiple track champion and his AT Neon, so for bracket racing this was going to be a challenge. I dialed a bit slower due to a head wind, 15.0, and went 15.09, however it was not good enough to land the win as the Neon went .58 on a .57 dial. I am happy with 2nd place though, just need to step it up next time out.
For the next time out I plan to gut the SI out and shave some weight off and get lower in the 14 second club. June 10th will be the test!!!!

Been a bit busy with work, but figured I have more events under my belt and I should do an update for you all.
June 4th / 5th SRRSCCA Autocross Events 9/10
This would be my first event in the EP class, the recent addition of the Ultra Racing Bracing had me jump classes. I was ok with this jump for it gives me a lot of room to tweak the SI even further and take the car to a new level for the 2012 season. Only thing that sucks with EP class is the PAX multiplier, lol.
Saturday Results:
31.759 Best Time
-- 1st Place EP Class
-- 20th PAX (73 Drivers)
-- 22nd RAW (73 Drivers)
Sunday Results:
39.615 Best Time
-- 1st Place EP Class
-- 26th PAX (69 Drivers)
-- 26th RAW (69 Drivers)
Video of Saturday's Runs:
