Cam mystery solved!! - I got a new air pump....56K go away please
Re: Cam mystery solved!! - I got a new air pump....56K go away please
Yep, you better believe it. I'm going to order new valves in the near future, and take it the machine shop for the valve job and to fix that damn spangled rocker hole. I'll make sure to grease it up like pig a on hog-chasin' day before it goes back together.
- On a side note, its show and tell day at school, and my 8-year old daughter just left with her contribution for show and tell. A D16Y8 throttle body!!! Kids are great!

Hey speedfoos. Im the guy who sold you the head. I thought I would never see that head again until I saw these pictures. The spoon coilpacks was a joke between me and my friends to get some kid to fall for it on ebay. But from the looks of it you know better. Anyway good luck on the build. Let me know what kind of power you get from my head.

Holy ****, I thought you dropped off the face of the earth.
I have to do some repair work on it first, you saw that spangled bolt hole that will need to be retapped. Plus one or more of those "Spoon" coil packs flaked out when my car overheated and the HG blew. Weirdest thing, have never had that happen before. But I'm moving the stickers over to my good, stock coil packs whenever I get a free minute.
Anyway, if this turbo install ever finishes (click the link in my sig if you're curious) it will go on when I put the 577cc injectors in. Those little RSX-S jobbers I have won't be able to throw enough fuel to make that head worthwhile. Gotta get the first stage installed though, then get an ARP stud kit before I swap the head out.
I remember you told me who did the PnP work on it, but have since forgetten and lost the email. Do you still remember?

Yikes, I wouldn't go back to that machine shop then. They could have at least used JB Weld instead of frickin' hot glue.
So what about the whole New Orleans flood thing you told me about?

I lost a whole bunch of paperwork during katrina. I got sick of building the D17 eventually. The project was taking me too long (2+ years). So I just said screw it and sold all my D17 related parts and got a K20 engine tranny and five lug suspension for $2000.

LOL - just checkin' to see if you pulled any other 'Spoon coil plug'-esque things on me!
I probably won't put the head until I get back from Africa in December. I want to perch it on top of a built block to get take full advantage of everything, but since I may not be able to find an affordable machine shop in the UK, I might just ARP my current one and run it at 8 psi. We'll see.
