bought this lip of ebay :



and when i hold it up to the bumper it looks to be a perfect fit but when i look at the sides where the edge goes to the fender only one side goes on. i have tried forcing both sides on at the same time but its honestly not happening. anyone have the same problems ?

which year is ur civic???? dont do it urself.... get a body shop to put it on.....

what is the lip made of? ABS plastic is the only one that will fit since its bendable

well i have abs and it fit without a problem, so technically both will fit, maybe they sent you the wrong one

I have found the problem, you get what you pay for.

If it's ABS it will not fit an 04-05 because it requires some stretching, I had the same problem. Forceing it on will crack the sides. The urethane one is bendable and will fit.

yeah, you need to get the polyurethane one. Screw down one side then stretch it to fit the other side. I got my polyurethane lip off ebay and it fits.

Or there are ones made for 04-05 that are ABS now on ebay ... don't know how well they fit .. i'll probably stick with 99-00 urethane ones since it's more flexible/durable than abs plastic.

ya unfortunately the ABS plastic 99-00 civic lips dont fit. I actually was in the same problem. I took a heat gun and stretched the abs plastic but it warped the entire lip. So i bondo'd some of the wonkey spots and sanded it down.

Polyurethane is stretchable under heat. ABS plastic tends to melt. Be very carefull when applying the heat gun. baby steps.

Anyone purchase the 04-05 lips off ebay? theres a type-r and a type-m? I think cubanmike has a type-m lip

i must have got some kind of special abs plastic because mine fit, and i also got it off of ebay, did you get the type r or mugen lip? maybe thats the difference

So your car is an 02?? As long as you bought one for that year, it should fit. Like mentioned above, you could take it to a body shop, and see if they can get it on, otherwise, contact the seller and tell them their **** doesn't fit.

The 99-00 lips are more common, so you could probably finds those for a cheaper price then the 04-05 lips.

as a matter of fact, this **** needs to get locked, 'cause the thread starter hasn't added any more info, and didn't provide enough to start. this is all crap, and mere speculation taking up server space.

my bad. i just responded to other peoples responses. if his is an 02 then his lip should be a direct fitment as long as he bought the correct lip for his vehicle.

if he has an 02, and this abs lip doesnt fit, then he bought it for the wrong year or its just a craptacular lip period cause they do make type r lips for the 01-03

Ok, then I guess the majority of people posting in this thread lack "common computer skills" because I seemed to be one of the few that picked up on it. So, if your car is an 02, and you bought the 01-03 lip, it should fit. If it doesn't, it's either really, really shitty quality, or they sent you the wrong one. May I suggest contacting your seller on ebay??
