I am real close to ordering wheels and tires but still kinda hesitant on if that is a better tire size for my car since I do have a semi-rough roads in some spots and don't want to risk it with a 35 series tire. I am also going to purchase the Tein S Tech's. With a 40 series tire will I rub when using the s tech's? If anyone is ridin' on a similiar setup please post pics so I can get an idea of what my whip might look like. Thanks!!!!!

sup man i have 215 40s on 18s and the ride is better than the stock 195 15s. I would say go with the 40 series

I have 225/40/18 goodyears, im dropped on eibach prokits and you will rub like a mad man on stechs. i rub barely at full lock with 1/4" spacers in the front and the rear lip was ground back with a DIE grinder so its onl ylike 1/4 wide. i have like 2 finger wheels gap but its needed for travel...

you cant be serious!!! common sense owns you!!!

maybe they handle better but they certainly dont ride better. thinner sidewall means you feel the road 10x more. that mean every bump, every crack, every reflector for that matter.

if i do it again i will go with a 215/45/17

There is only a .3 and .4 difference between ur pro kit and s techs. And you still have a two finger gap, r u sure I would rub that bad j/w <----seriously not sure....

Springs sag, they are all a little lower than what they say. eibachs will be like an 1" drop. the Stechs will sag prob at least 1/2". if you run a camber kit you wont be able to fit them with out rolling the fender out(rear) on the front youll rub the outside front of the fender well.and tons at full lock. I had the progress springs on before these. with stock shocks i was dumped. at least 3" and they are rated at a 2.2" drop. the only reason they fit was becasue of grinding the rears and 1/4" spacers all around with gnarly neg. camber. now with the eibachs and kyb agx's i have a straight 2finger gap. and all my camber is within spec -1.5* with no camber kit.

My chic has an 05 civic se and she took the stock rims off and got some 18 and she put 215/35/r18s on it and it rides ok its kinda rough but i think it looks just as good as it rides!!!

no i dont feel every bump or crack. when i put them on and left the shop i was fully prepared to feel every thing in the road like everyone loves to say. In my case it aint true

Thank you!! i have been asking this same question and everytime i post it they say go here or go there and they lock my post and i have gone to look many times for th other posts and they are no where to be found. i would like to see what people would hae to say. put the stock rims back on and tell me the ride isnt more comfortable!!

i have swapped several times. for long drives i put the stock tires back on. the ride is 100% better with the larger sidewall of the stock tires. it doesnt handle as good but it definately is a smoother more comfortable ride.


the sidewall difference in a 225/40/18 vs A 215/45/17 is huge. youll get the traction and ride comfort with the 215/45. but it also wont fir on an 18 with a drop bigger than 1".

As long as you roll the rear fenders you can use what ever spring you want. I like 225's because i dont have to special order them and wait 3 days to get them like i had to with 215/40/18, 225/40/18 is a common size and are easy to find if you ever need a replacement
