Well I finally got a new car. The Civic just never did it for me. To save myself the huge debt I would be in if I got an STI or Evo I ended up getting an SRT-4. It is fun as hell and I cant wait to get it to the track with some slicks and see what it runs. I attached one pic that previous owner had taken, I havent had time to take any myself.

personally i dont like those cars, i just think dodge should stick to their american muscle and not go all out import. plus its a sorry excuse for a neon, but hey congrats on it.

SRT-4s are alright... just make sure you take good care maintaining it and make sure you build it right so it doesnt go kaboom!

Its the best neon, but its still a neon. Congratz tho, atleast you'll be making more power then the vic and running much better times. I hear 12.9 is easily obtainable.

I got it for $16,500. It is a 2005 that only has 14,000 miles on it. The previos owner told me he put down 290/330 the last time he took it to the dyno. He already had Stage 2, exhaust, intake, throttle body, ported intake manifold, AGP wastegate, etc. etc. Normally I would never buy a car with all these mods but the car is in excellent condition and was kept up by the previous owner. I know its just a Neon, haha, but hey you cant win them all. Its the most bang for my buck I could get at that price so I'm real happy. I already miss the Honda gas mileage though, I'll tell you that!

thats why i decided not to turbo my civic...... i figured if i wanted something faster, i can invest that 5000+ on something else that'll make me go faster....


civic is:
1. an ECONOMY CAR
2. FWD
3. MENT TO SAVE GAS GAS GAS AND MORE GAS.
4. if u want to expierence going fast like nothing before, get a 600cc+ bike

and that is why, i dont turbo my civic....

btw, i think teh SRT4 is an awesome car.....iono why so many people here are flaming it....... so what if its a neon?

our cars are what........jsut civics.......its like....

civic is to boosted civic as neon is to SRT4!!!!!!!!!!

(hah but then again the ciivc is alot more reliable/econ. than teh neon... but the srt4 is alot faster than the boosted vic)

i was in a manual stock 350z and some srt-4 pulled up to me and my buddy(he was drivin) and we were taken by like a half a car length, but then again the srt4 had some mods on it of course.

also for the srt-4 theres a rumor going around that u can switch like 2 cables or what not and gain 45hp onto the base. If u ever find it on some dodge forum or what not get back to me.

Neons have a history of bad engines and transmissions. Of course it is a Chrysler product. I had nothing but problems with the trannys in both by Dodges. Honda and Toyota in my garage now.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah I know its a Dodge and all but the SRT has a fairly stout motor and tranny. I dont plan to do anything that is going to jepordize the motor. I found out though you can get about 23 mpg if you stay in vacuum most of the time, which is somewhat hard to do, haha.

well.. congrats on the buy- my friend has a regualr neon and it a pos.. but my other friend has a 4, and man... its some rediculous ****. He's been through mechanics school or whatever its called and turbos everything, upgraded it and was throwing down rediculous numbers. Thoes things really do have an insane amount of potential, but yet again, $$ is still a factor.

yeah its a neon and your happy... but I have a civc and I'm still happy. The world still goes around, everybody. :smile:
