48! Looks like I'm the late bloomer. It's my first import ever.
I got rid of a 13 year old Ford Ranger 4x4 last week and picked up a 2012 EX. It's not hard living with a new car that seems to always be getting over 30mpg. I got over 36 commuting during week and the MID says about 32 today while running errands and after a short trip to my local trout river.

My first civic was in 2001, was 19 or 20 when I had it. On my 6th civic, which I just got a couple of weeks ago. My first one was a 92 bubble with a sohc vtec swap. The last one I had was a 95 coupe with a b16 and itr internals. All the others were sound system cars. Just got an EM2 and still debating on what to do with it... Strictly sound or go and drop a k series in it.

I got my civic when I was 16. Im 19 now and will probly keep it forever. Its a 97 dx coupe d16y7. Its stock for now and a non-vtec so its pretty slow but the tranny has really tall gears and with a 3'' exhaust you sure do get great gas mileage

Bought mine a little over a year ago (12/11/11), less than a month after I turned 16, for $3000 My grandparents floated me the loan after a $500 down payment. Now, I'm a senior in high school, working 2 jobs, and I've got about $600 left to pay off! At the time it had 72000mi on the ODO, almost perfect condition minus a couple light scratches here and there, and a dead front wheel bearing. It's been 14 months and I still wash and vacuum my car as much as I possibly can (Never gone more than 2 weeks without). Now my baby has about 91300mi, and 500k more to go! :P
Mods:
Pioneer DEH 7300BT HU
Infinity Reference speakers front/rear (Not installed, but hopefully will be by Monday)
LED Dome/Trunk/License plate lights
LED Turn signals front/rear, LED brake lights, along with the electronic flasher relay and resistor on the CC computer (Not installed, but will be by Monday)
Sylvania Silverstar Ultra headlights
Currently have about $300 in mods. I bought an OEM spoiler to install, but eventually decided I didn't actually want it. Now, to just sell it on eBay.

Damn this thread takes me back in high school.. Bought me a 94 Jetta Gl 5spd with 105k (my first car) the car was just causing me problems, clucth went 2 times on it after the 2nd time i just scrapped it the worst car i ever owned.. Then bought 02 ex with 30k miles on it i was 16 by then, bought it for 5k from auction salvage title, 9 months later wrecked it pretty bad.. The i came across this 02 Dx sedan 5 spd with 60k for 3k (Salvage title but wasn't bad) when gas prices was 5 bucks a gallon and the Acura was killing me in gas that whole year.. I am still driving the civic with no problems 130k on it as of now..

I got my first car almost a year ago, right at the start of summer for $1200.
I was 17, now I'm 18.
I paid all but $300 of that myself, with the little "boost" coming from the money made by selling my older sister's totaled VW Passat to a junk yard. She broke the stupid thing by not doing basic maintenance, not that finding someone to work on those cars is really easy in AL. .
Getting the car is a nice story too. I volunteer at a planetarium on top of a nearby mountain. My "boss" who manages the interns found that I couldn't make it up there one night because my mom's car broke down, asked why I wasn't driving my own. When I told her that I obviously didn't have a car, she mentioned an old Civic that she and her husband were looking to sell, but didn't want to give to a stranger. It turns out that this 98 Civic EX Coupe was her husbands first car, and he had taken amazing care of it, although it had over 300k on it from highway use.
A little over a month later, I made a $400 deposit and brought home my new source of pride in life, which my boss had lovingly named "The Mothership".
So far I haven't done anything worthy of being called a 'Mod' though I have done a lot of frugal cleaning / fixing up on it.

I'm 27 as of Feb. 12th. I had decided back in HS that a 2002, 2 dr., blue Civic was the car I wanted to be seen in. I went through a used Dodge Dynasty, then got into a Lancer Ralliart. That got smashed through someone else's fault. I needed a car again, and this time I went for a 2005 Civic LX Special Edition. That was in 2007 and I was about 22. I've always held a job while going to school full-time. It wasn't until a little over 18 months ago that I began working full-time (wife and kid). I did a little mod here and there, but I'm really waiting until I pay the car off (doing it in two weeks with my tax return) because that frees up $280 (car payment) a month that I can use to quickly pay off anything I get a loan for. I'm hitting about 112k. I travel anywhere between 5-22 miles to work, and another set back depending what post office I work at that day. Sometimes I use it on a rural route for delivery, so add another 8 hours of stop and go driving if I need to use it. It's a damn good vehicle. I'm planning to have a custom paint job done to memorialize my daughter who passed after being born in Jan. When I get that job done, they're gonna have to pry this car from my cold dead hands.
2005 Civic LX Special Edition
Darkest tint allowed in TX (35%) (installed when I bought the car)
No-name short ram (installed when I bought the car)
Spectre air filter (installed when I bought the car)
DC Sports 4-1 Header ($250 part/self-installed)
2005 Civic EX Catalytic Converter ($700 part/self-installed)
Custom piping and 3" HKS Hi-Power Muffler ($920 parts and labor)
Tokico Blue HP Shocks/Struts ($325 parts/$200 labor and alignment)
Tein S-Techs ($110 part from civicforums WTS board/$115 labor)
Hawk HP Brake Pads ($75 parts/self-installed)
Viper 570 Smartstart system ($299 sale/$15 shop parts & labor)
Planning this year:
AEM or K&N Short Ram / AEM Filter
Nitrous Express kit
Replace stupid 7th-gen Input Shaft Bearing w/custom one found on civicforums
Fog lights
Replace Special Edition disc player (only good for AUX jack, CDs don't read)
Upgrade sound system
Custom paint job
Stainless steel brake lines
Slotted brake rotors
Lambo door kits
Trunk solenoid (so I can pop the trunk w/Viper remoter)
I've considered buying a RHD vehicle since I use it for mail delivery sometimes. It's pretty hard to track one down on CL or Ebay lately. But I think I'll just stick with this one. It's been good to me. I'll run it till the wheels fall off and there's nothing left to fix it with.

25. Was my first ever brand-new car purchase.
Used the insurance money from my old truck ('94 Ranger) for the down payment. (Still strikes me as odd that truck was "totaled" for primarily cosmetic damage after someone hit it in a parking deck - I slapped an aftermarket taillight on it and drove it for a week like that. 10years old, just under 100k miles but still, low book value means the threshold for "totalling" it wasn't very high. )

I was a bit spoiled, my parents paid $9,000 and myself $500 for my 2005 Civic when I had just reached 17. I am nearly 19 now and loving my EM2!

Re: How old were you when you got your Civic.
I bought my first Honda Civic 5 days ago. It's a 2000 5 speed coupe, black with black rims and a silver lip. It also has a K&N Intake on it. I'm 17 and spent $4300. ($2400 from my dad and a $600 loan from my grandparents). The rest was all me. I plan on repainting the rims black with a red lip next weekend.

i bought my car about near the beginning of summer 2011. i was 21 then and my car cost me 2400 which i paid thanks to my refund check from school. since then i couldnt do much cause money was really tight. im now starting to work on it cause on feb.1, 2012 my car got stolen and the a**hole who stole it fked up my bumpers and fender and stole my speakers and radio. but this is how it looked before it was stolen minus that lousy muffler. i replaced it with a stock one.

I got my Civic Jordan (my one and only Civic) in February 2010 when I was 23. I am now 25 (turn 26 in May). I paid £5000 for it and its still only covered 58k miles now. I've probably spent in the region of £2000 on mods so far with more to come. List of mods so far:
Rays TE37 wheels
Mugen Twinloop catback exhaust
Meister-R Zeta S coilovers
EK9 Spoiler
EK9 Manifold and downpipe
EK9 Window switch (for auto up + down window)
Honda wind deflectors
EK9 fold-out cup holder
JVC headunit (unsure on model, but features USB ports, AUX port, bluetooth)
Pioneer speakers all round
Think thats everything. I work full time, left school aged 16, went to college got qualified and have been in the same job at the same place for the last 9 years.

I got my first Civic, a 95 DX at 21. I think it was $2500, never modded anything... drove it about a year. I wish I had kept it longer, it was soooo clean.
Current Civic (04 VP) I bought 4 years ago at 23. Sticker price was $11k, but insurance basically paid off the last $5k of my loan after my poor car got hit by hail. So for about $6k out of my pocket not too bad, and I can get the damage fixed for way cheap at work. 130k miles and going strong, definitely the most reliable car I've owned.

Got my 01 EX 5spd on October 9, 2011 for $5800 with 106000 miles and I was 18 at the time.
Now I'm 19, the car is at 118000 miles. Car runs super clean. I love my weak D17 and its efficiency.

My dad bought me my first car. He was always a Toyota guy as it happens the dealer happened to only have a Civic. I lucked out.
I lived in VA he lived in FL. I flew down there and he takes me out to the parking lot and goes up to this rusted out **** terd 92 civic. It was rust primer and black colored all dinged up and **** and he gives me the keys and he goes, "theres your car" i hit the remote and the car behind me beeped.
January 2001. I was 16. Paid $10,000 for a 1998 Vogue Silver Metallic EJ at Mincer Motors in Sanford Flarda. Had 32,000 miles on it in a 5 speed. My dad tinted the windows for me, got me 15" icw rims with Michelin tires on it. I lived in Virginia and drove it all the way home. I still remember the first song that I played on the Sony Xplod head unit my dad had installed for me. He went all out for me.
I loved that car and gave it hell. Sold it in 2006 with 160,000 miles. I've had three since.
