Starting out
Hey guys new to the forum
I Previously owned a 01 Lx coupe with a few mods here and there, mostly show and no go (I could keep up with my roomates 92 prelude untill about 50) but any way traded it and got a 05 EX SE just ordered AEM pulley set and K&N typhoon system....(I'll let everyone know how that goes in a few days) I was wondering though if anyone had any information on a good exhaust and header set up while still retaining the factory cat, and any other upgrades. worth noting with out going turbo yet.
(P.S. before anyone posts any "its not worth it" crap about swaping or turbo kits are the only way to go for d17 eat me your wasting your time)

Personally I like my little d17a2, its understated but I see potential. My roomate and I were out tonight and I raced a prelude with a h23, headers, cold air, exhaust, and a few other things and although i didn't win i hung with him enough that he had trouble believing that I was completely stock. My self knowing what kind of improvement I got from my 01 lx with just an intake new plugs and an exhaust am completely confident in the d17's capabilities. So as soon as I get my fisrt couple of mods under my belt for the 05 I'll vid a race between me and my roomies lude to see the improvement.

the rsr is a great exhaust as far as looks and design, but i'm getting rust on the supposed ceramic coated pipes and muffler. i would've gone with the apex world sport had i known that.

I couldnt bring myself to spend 500 dollars for an exhaust for my civ. I bought a muffler at a car show for 60 bux and had the muffman run cat back for 170. I feel that i got the same 3hp and paid half.

well yea with this car you are paying for looks and sound. i don't think it was worth $500 but its still nice. i just hope it doesn't rust a hole in it cause thats not gonna sound very good.

well i spent 500 plus on my tanabe when it first cam out for the 7thgen and its all stainless steal still looks great but i have to have it welded back together twice and have a hanger welded back on. its a great exhaust though sounds good. its got a deep tone to it and its not raspy on the high end. i think its the best sounding exhaust iv heard on a 7thgen
