Ok, someone backed into my car while it was parked at work. Put a good sized dent in the bumper. I got all their info, the dent isnt that bad, I will probably just pop it out. Just wondering if anyone has gone to a body shop to get thiers fixed before so I can get an idea of a monetary amount in my head. I am thinking I will just get a quote at a body shop and try to get money outside insurance for parts. Its just the plastic bumper cover, no other damage. Thanks, AJ. I will post pics later.

well if it was someone elses fault and you have there info, take it in and have it done for free. Why do it yourself when it can be paid for by there insurance.

Yea, but i get a quote from a bodyshop, do it myself, and then pocket the money... at least thats the idea.

if you can just "pop" the dent out then just do it and dont deal with the hassle, but chances are you wont be able to, hence the reason we have bodyshops. because bodywork is harder than it seems

to pop it you can do, but will there be damage to the paint when done, if so cheapest is 150 for a spray and prime. could go up to 800. my mom got her bumper hit and thats the price she was given he did it for 150 and made out with some cash on the side. But old lady who hit my mom deserved it she hit it and drove off. someone got her plate but cop wouldnt give her a hit and run because my mom called her and forced her to come back.Thats from someone i know cheapest, to pop it out and no damage 50 dollars if that

I have a decent amount of experience in body work, painted several trucks, hang body panels regularly, so on... Wont be too much of a problem
