Quick update: AEM SRI installed
here are the pics.
and now a little review
Sound:
driving slow (gas pedal <50% depressed) car sounds normal. very little difference.
Pushing pedal all the way in (really opening throttle body) sounds much louder. has a little, obviously, pipe sound to it. sounds pretty cool.
Power:
loses a little bottom end, but feels a tiny bit more responsive over 3.5K - 4K rpms.
Finish:
Polished finish is excellent. looks great. fingerprints are easily visable as expected.
Fit:
The SRI fits OK at best. The mounting tab and end of the pipe that connects to the throttle body both fit well, alone. Unfortunatly they are too close together so I had to position the intake in place, screwing in the screw with the mounting tab. Then I had to have my girlfriend put tons of pressure on the pipe to get it to stay in the hose that connects it to the throttle body. it just didnt fit well. Also the filter is kinda high up but just barely makes it in there without vibrating against the hood. I still am going to put a foam strip on the edge of the filter to prevent rattling though.
