in 01 I wanted a 2000 si but the dealer only had 2 used ones, price was steep, and the paint condition was not that great. So I bought my ex. Over all I am happy with it. I'll be happier once I K20a2 swap it.

I really wanted a Mazda3, but since they had just come out we could get a very good deal on one. Also looked at Corollas, but somehow the interiors just dont stand up to that of the Civic. However, got my 2003 Rallye Red coupe with 8,000 miles for only 13,800 and that settled it. Of course there are other cars out there I would rather have, but for what it is (low end, econo car) the civic is the best thing around. Just be glad you arent driving a Sunfire, Cavalier, or Neon guys.

Also, my brother was given the same parameters as myself for selecting a new car a few years back and he ended up with a Ford Focus ZX2. Let me assure you that Civics are MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better.

....yeah exactly what happened to me. i had this conversasion w/ my mom a little while ago. right before i bought my car i found a 2001 integra gsr fully loaded, black on black, manual, 20,000 miles for $22,000. but noooo, my parents wanted me to have a new car....im still pissed off.

the day I was to get a car, a friend was to sell me his type-r in fairly good condition, only thing wrong was some body damage from like hail and door dings, and he was gonna sell for 20k. Had the ok with my mom, but instead my dad came home with a new vic... ever since then i've been pissed at him but this isnt my last car so its all good. I start working for toyota this summer, so in a few years ill get me a g35 or something.

I wanted my Civic for sure. See what happened was, I have owned fords/pontiacs and stuff like that, basically crap cars. Oh yeah and a KIA sportage . So I ended up with a mazda 626, cuz i thought yay, im finally going to get a car with some japanese reliability, only to find out it had a ford transmission!! So whenever i found out that the auto-trans was a ticking timebomb, i got rid of it as fast as i could, now i'm in the car i should have been in since the very beginning. I love my '04 mag coupe ex!

I needed a new reliable commuter around the 15K range. No domestic offered the reliablilty, and other Japanese cars werent as appealing to me. So I ended up buying my Coupe 5-spd and have never looked back.

I SO DID NOT WANT MINE! But when you have got as many tickets as me in a Jeep Grand Cherokee for off roadin and goin over curbs and other **** things I did in a SUV, and ure insurance almost drops u..... well you kinda just end up with Civic, but hey! at least its a EX. Sadly its a sedan and not a coupe cuz that was my parents punishing me for being a dumb ***.

I needed a better commuter car than my old (but very comfortable) 82 accord hatch. The accord was solid, no problems at all at 150k, but it was one of those 85mph top speed cars. Long trips at todays highway speeds... well, it sounded like the motor would jump out of the hood. I knew that I really was due for a new, and better geared car. So I had a windfall money wise. Choice A: buy an RSX or other car and not pay off all the credit cards, or choice B: buy one of the nicest looking coupes for less money AND pay off ALL the credit cards. I took B, paid cash for the civic, (02 EX) AND got rid of my credit debt. MAN that felt good. No regrets. The Civic is humming right along, and it's great on those freeway hauls. I'd do it again. Those of you whos parents bought your cars, you are sooooooo lucky. I drove used beaters until the vic.

i wanted a trans am ws6 or camaro ss .... something with a grunty v8 or a rsx type s. or s2k..... ended up liking the civic when my friend got one while i was searching for a car.

I was going to get a red 05 honda accord v6 6spd for 9grand but decided it wouldnt have been the best choice. I begged and begged to get it but I dont really like red. The car was salvaged thats why it was so cheap. I have looked at some 2000 si but couldnt find any in good condition. All salvaged or messed up with high mileage. It was hard to find a good si so I just went with a clean title civic last year for 9 thousand. Best deal I made yet. 40k mileage was on the odometer. No flaws but one scratch on the rear bumper.

hell no i didnt want this car. well, out of the choices i had, i said this was the only one i would drive. what happened was the third car I bought, cash, died on me. so me being in college, my parents finally decided to co-sign for a car, only catch was they said had to be brand new, and entry level. i had a shitty job at the time so they decided to pay part of the payment (which is why only brand new), and all i wanted was a newer car that i could pay for by myself. so out of them wanting me to test drive this, a kia, and a cavalier, i said the only one i would drive is the civic.

about 4 months later i get a much better job and completely take over the payments, even give them some of the money back for what they paid. anyway, it will be one year on the 14th that ive had this car, and im trading it in in the next month or so. i think i still want a s2000 over an sti.
