I would wire it into the trunk light that way they aren't on so much. There's no reason to have 'em shining if ya can't see 'em.

To cover the amp should i use plexiglass or should i cut a peice of wood same size of the hole and carpet it so when it goes on it will look like a whole floor?

it's spelled Plexiglas and I would go with that
