IF you could start all over...
i would have bought a used Integra GS-R. Hell when I first bought my car I thought I could fix it up real good and make it fast. Then I joined this website after I bought it and realized that my car was gay LOL. nah i'm j/p but it did **** me off when I found out our civics have zero potential for speed. Which is why i'm saving for a swap

I like my 7th gen, but it's potential sucks.

I see lots of people commenting on how they would have bought an Accord V6, a WRX - those are WAY more expensive (and out my price range at the time).
Honestly, I'm quite happy with my Acura 1.7EL. When I bought it, I knew it wasn't fast and since it's engine was (essentially) a brand new series there weren't many mod-options for it. So, I stuck with handling upgrades and audio, quite happy with my set-up right now. Sure, my car would probably have a hard time breaking into the 15's in the 1/4mile, but that's not what I bought the car for. If I wanted something FAST, I would have bought a used 1997 Camaro Z-28 SS. But, I wanted the reliability/fuel mileage of a Honda.
So, in my life, I've gone from:
'87 Celica GT ---> '91 Miata ---> '01 Acura 1.7EL.
I think my next step will be something with more power (obviously). Maybe an IS-300. I dunno, I plan on keeping my ride for a few more years anyhow. By then I'll have to re-examine the contents of my wallet.

If I could start over, I'd have gotten the RSX-S (cause I later found out the insurance would have been the same). If I could start over with my mods, I'd have probably kept it clean, and not put on a kit, or anything. I'd have had everything shaved, gotten a CF hood, drop, rims, and gotten white instead of NBP. Course, there's nothing my paint shop can't do. So It's gonna be a color change now anyway.
If I could start all over I would have gotten the EP3 instead of my ES2. They had such a beautiful 2003 Civic Si there, but my wife wanted me to think more economically and more toward the future. I told her I was thinking toward the future, that's why I wanted to EP3, more modding options. She was thinking about kids and a family. :-D
Also, Ours Cars have plenty of potential, they look good, mine runs great, could do a k20 swap if I want more power and I sure as hell am happy with putting 91 octane in this getting anywhere from 27-37 mpg, instead of getting weaker mileage like I would've with the EP.
So basically, All in all it was a great investment.

not wasted money on aem cai, kamikazee header, megan racing doownpipe, and especially the venom 400. All went to waste. At least i got a good deal on it all. But that $$$ 700 could have been helpful for my swap. Could have gotten the k20a instead of the a2. Oh well its still going to be fun. (not yet installed).

My main regret is not getting 5 speed... If I would have I would have gone for the "JDM" look... dropped on some 16's, CF hood & trunk and a turbo...and call it a day....

well i was 3 days late on getting a 2k3 GTI 1.8T. then as i was signing the papers for a 2k3 base RSX with a/t, the nice honda salesman talked my mom into saving money and getting the honda version of the rsx which is the civic. i hate him with a passion for the rest of my life but at the end of this lease, im getting a RSX type SSSSS.

) I got the sedan because there were 4 2k1 civics at honda the day I bought mine. A titanium 5-speed(can't drive 5-speed)sedan, a green sedan (blech), a black coupe (can't afford insurance on a coupe) and a silver sedan (hello).
