If you want more Go than Show, save up for Intake & full catback exaust.
If it's vice versa, get some coilover suspension and some 16" rims and tires.
How much are you willing to spend?

To be honest, and I'm sure most people on this site know, civics dont have a whole lotta Go.
So buy the things YOU think will make your car look good, dont go for everyone else's opinion.
If spicing up the interior makes your **** look hot...then do it! That car is all yours, so enjoy it.
Now save up and get Tein Coilovers. They're good.

Well, first of all, what do you want out of your car? Do you want to go for looks, be able to take the turns, or go for speed? Ideally, probably about 99% of this board would want to go for speed, but unfortunately, that comes at a high cost. Turbo kits are pretty expensive for this car, as are the K-swaps, and building up a D17 is still very elusive to many of us. If you got the cash, then these things should be no problem to you. If you don't, however, you might want to go some other route.
Enter looks. Yes, your car can look awesome, but be tasteful with how you do it. Some will agree and some won't, but don't be too flashy with what you put on your car when concerned with looks. Big wings, body kits (unpainted especially), neon lights, projectors that don't allow you to see anything at night, and altezza tallights will be seen as rice by most on this site, myself included, but some will accept these things as you can see with many of the Member's Rides. A simple OEM lip kit, rims that are not too big (15's or 16's), and black-housing headlights (although this looks good, it is getting done far too often and will more than not be considered rice in the future, agree with me or not I don't care) will give you a clean-looking vehicle. Of course, everyone has their own tastes, if YOU like it then that's all that matters, right? Personally, I would go with the next option when choosing what to do with your Civic.
Okay, so you have a 1.7 liter, 127-hp monster lurking under your hood? Realizing that you are NOT fast on a straight line WILL COME QUICKLY. So, why not be 'fast' in some other aspect? Suspension has become the love of many Civic owners in this forum. It is relatively cheap (when compared to buying a turbo kit, getting a swap, or building up your D17), the results ARE AMAZING, and you will not be disappointed, guaranteed. First, start with a spring/shock combination, whether it be Neuspeed Sports/Race with Koni's, H&R's with the newly released Tokico's, or one of the fantastic true coilovers such as TEIN, KW, JIC, or B&G. Notice how I mentioned springs AND SHOCKS? Do it right the first time, it will be cheaper, and will give you that much more satisfaction. Next? A set of stickier and wider tires should be in order because you can only turn as fast as your tires will let you right? Of course you might want to follow this up with a camber kit (SPC is BULKY) unless you want your newly bought sticky tires to get eaten up due to bad camber. Follow this up with a set of sway bars (the RSX rear sway is quite possibly THE BEST investment that I have made for my Civic). A good set of sway bars WILL keep your Civic planted on the ground. Finally, you can finish it off with a set of strut bars to reduce body flex, and you will have a 'FAST' Civic, in the turns that is. There are definitely many other suspension mods that you can put on your Civic, but i'm quite sure that this combo will give you much satisfaction.
Whatever route you choose, just make sure you are happy with your Civic. Please don't make modding a CHORE because that will destroy you mentally and even physically. Have fun with your car, and remember that each thing you do should be a good learning experience for you. Good luck man, enjoy your new car.
OH, and by the way, SEARCH NOOB! Haha, I kid, I kid!

if you want it to go (as quickly as a civic can) stick with 15" wheels, Something in the sub 15LB Range.
and what type of go do you want? Straight line? Cornering? what? will you ever do an open track event? Autocross? or is this just for the street?

well, i agree sleeper civic....i one the other hand...can't afford to go fast...but looking good is a bunch of little mods. so...thats the route i'm taking....all i got so far is a sytem, and tints more or less. next is lambo doors..followed by a drop...then either 16s or 17s. a few small things like tail lights...a short shifter and soon tyc headlights....i personally don't want to mess too much w/ the engine...so thats the way it is with me....but on the real...do what you want and what you like. there is no point in trying to do something all your peers are diong only cause thats what they are diong. if you like it ... get it. its your car..your the one driving it...not anyone else. but yeh..u'll love this forum, lots of info! and well, welcome

To the original author of this thread, refer to redvtec04's pics of his car for what not to do. wait, he took the pics down.
