Unhappy Bad News!!!!!

I had to sell the Z. No more 350Z

I got a 2003 mazda protege mazdaspeed. its the only dealer and only car they would give me with 7000 neg equity and no money down. So i paid 26 k for a 19k car. Seems like boys always have to learn the hard way before they can become men!!!

Im happy with it though, nice suspension KILLER sound system (kenwood 450 watt sub and awesome flip/stealth face) nice rims and a pretty good amount of pick-up. 180 hp stock a good backbone for a car i say, Its also a ton more practical for the active male. Now i have the car i should of bought in the first place only 7 grand more expensive because of my stupidity!!

Sad to see my beauty go but this will do for now until nissan fixes the front suspension on the Z and i can afford 2 cars. I'll take pics soon, off to the dealer to finalize the deal.

side note: insurance droped 350.00 a year and gas is regular now. over 1000 in savings a year on that alone. I feel smarter already!!!

7thgen Forever (should of just kept the civic, could of had a turbo by now with all the money i am spending),

vin

If you don't mind my asking, what is wrong with the front suspension on the Z? I ask because I'm looking to replace my Civic over the summer with a Z potentially.

the newer models are ok but the first run had a bad alignment, suspesion problem that cupped the tires in the front so you were going through tires atleast one front set a year. i pretty sure its fixed now, go to www.my350z.com and look up about it. there is a post called tire feathering over 2,000 posts in repairing. Good luck!!

Its a 2003. without the ugly bench spoiler, this one has like an rsx or a smaller version of the evo spoiler. its perfect! And most important its turbo'd!!!

They let you roll over neg equity? Definitly a smarter decision, one of my good friends has a truck that he is about $7000 in neg equity, and the transmission just blew.

So did the dealer give you a problem with the trade-in?

not too much i got a 03 so there was 4 grand in rebates that they applied to the down payment in negetive equity. So it went rather smooth, Just a high intrest rate of 16.7 but in 12-18 months i can refinance for lower. All i got to do is find 1500 for tax and tags!!!

Thanks for the infor concerning the suspension. I've been trolling the Z boards for the past month but not with any frequency. I'll search for posts pretaining to the problem. Thanks again and enjoy your Mazdaspeed.

^^^ I think the suspension problems are major PITAs, but definetely nothing to "lose faith" in a car over...

I guess I must have missed parts of your story or something, because from what I ascertained you had this feathering problem...so you traded in your Z, dragging negative equity and signed on for an exhorbitant finance rate that I didn't even know existed

I don't get it...neeeeeeed input

ok here is the story, NNA nissan north america would not own up to the problem the first run Z has, The dealership would not own up either. It america a capitolist society so no one was willing to pay for there mistakes as long as the law doesn't make them. So i got rid of the POS. In doing so i aquired 7,000 in neg equity. i owed 33,000 and the car was only worth 26,000. I callled every dealer in the book and no one would touch this car until i found mazda which was right across from the nissan dealer.

With 7000 in neg equity banks don't like to role that over. Usually you have to put atleast half of the neg eguity down. but mazda wanted my car real bad so the gave me a brandnew 03 and applied the 4000 in rebates to the down payment. the BANKS are the real buttheads in this situation because even with a paycheck that says gross 4,900 a month they don't like payinf 26,000 for a 19,000 doallar car. So they tack on a high interest rate. I guess because i am a risk. My credit isn't great either (score:623).

So all in all I am stuck with a high intrest rate until i can refinance in about a year but the brighter side is I can save money on gas, tires, brakes, insurance, and maintanance all around so even though my payments dropped 40-50 bux my annual savings with this new car are around 2-3000 dollars. Also its a 4 door and alot more practical. The Z had next to no trunk space. That damn upper rear strut bar was in the worst spot.

So i am happy with it and now to spend the next year getting back on track ( isaid track- i had the track edition, going to go cry now- DAMN NISSAN... DAMN THEM TO HELLLLLLLL)

Just thought I'd let you know that you CANNOT put regular gas in the mazdaspeed protege. You will knock and get detonation without a doubt. 91 Octane at the minimum is required for the turbocharged FS20DE. READ YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL
