car just wrecked today....
Today really sucked...my '01 civic that i had for only 4 weeks was wrecked today...all because of a freaking dog on the highway...the road was slippery and i was going about 52 mph and i was about a good 25-35 ft away from the car in front of me...i was on the far left lane and the there was a suv in front of me and another one on the lane next to mine...i wasn't speeding up or anything and all of a sudden i see both cars smash on their brakes, and i smashed on mine...started skidding so i swerved and tried to avoid a wreck..i got the the next lane but couldn't make it in time..smashed into the car that was on the next lane..and then a second later after i was back in reality somebody rear ended me...took me about 5 sec to find out that i wasn't in a dream...so i jumped out of the car and made sure that the two other people in my car were ok..and they were. Funny thing is that the suv that i rear-ended took off...and the person that rear-ended me ended up in front of me and on the next lane. I'm not sure if they caught the person that i rear-ended though. And i found out that the reason the people in front of me braked was because of a dog that dashed out. My car is totaled...the front of the hood is smashed into my headers and my rear bumper is basically in my trunk now...and all that and my airbags didn't even deploy. I asked the cop who is going to be at fault for this accident, and they said that right now its all my fault and that their assuming that i was following too close, they said they looked for evidence of tire marks from where i skidded to where i stopped but since the road was wet..there were no marks.....who do you guys think is at fault? Why would it be your fault? You weren't following too close or anything. You should be partly responsible, since you rear ended someone. The dog caused everything, not you. And what about the people that hit you?
