"When is too late to turbo?"
1) It is too late to get a turbo when you decide to sell your civic to get a subaru...
2) It is too late to get a turbo because everyone else is getting it
3) Get a faster car >=]
Or... Get a new motor, and spend what? 500$? and get turbo "3200ish" - Prototype, 4,000$ ? Hmm...

You can put the turbo on it if it has 50k, just that if there is any wear/tear, the turbo could make it worse? So, keep in mind a new engine or one that has been matured

You should be fine boosting your motor with 50,000 or even 70,000 miles on it. I've seen tons of honds motors with almost 100,000 miles on then boosted and they were beat on everyday. You should be good for at least 40,000 miles. As long as you take care of things, maintenance and ect.

Whoa there. Someone here is only running 4psi and he says it's fast enough already. Just keep it low if you're gonna be using boost constantly when you drive. Having the turbo work all the time kills the turbine faster as well.
