I'm going to be getting my tax return back, finally, and I'm wondering what I should do first...

Get a set of 5Zigen FN-01R Hyperblack rims and tires 17" x 7.5", (205/40/17)

or

Wait a little bit and get the KW Variant-3's when they come out

any suggestions?

I'm currently crusing around on factory rally rims and if I get the coilovers I'll still be on the factory hubcaps til I save up enough for the wheels. I was wondering if putting the wheels on with the factory struts would cause me any problems.

Lower your car first and foremost. You will get looks and performance in one package which doesn't come often. It makes a really good first mod.

With bigger wheels, you're just gonna hate how you slowed your car down for looks. Save that for later. DROP YOUR CAR.

And no, changing wheels does not affect your struts. The only thing that can affect your struts is the kind of springs you're using.

Get the full coilover set-up. There's nothing you'll dislike about it. Besides I hate seeing Civics with big rims and no drop. It makes the wheelgap even LARGER! Lower your car first!

Just save your money till it comes out. If you keep on saving maybe you can do it baller style and do both all at once.

But if you gotta do one... drop it. A lowered Civic even on stock hubcaps looks better than a Civic with 17s and no drop. No drop just ruins it. It's essential to have a drop on wheels or it just doesn't work.

damn i hate living in rochester cause i can't drop (winters). also, if i did i wouldn't be able to get up my driveway without scraping my kit. damn damn.

if i put 17s on how much bigger will my wheel gap be w/o a drop?

it would be the same a 17 with 40 series tires is damn near the same circumfrance as as the stock tire and rims use the tire calculater in the menu. it is just more noticeable and the car looks a little funny.

Very well put.

If I could do it all over again, I would have spent $1200 on coilovers not rims and some stupid springs.

But I did love my 18's....lol

oh yea, and I guess I should put a front and back damper kit on while I'm doing the coilovers, my initial thought was to go with the suspension first then the tires, I was just curious as to how everyone here thought a dropped 'vic on factory's looked, has anyone seen or have a pic of one?

[QUOTE]Ray; No information yet on the variant 3 for the newest civic. I know our
engineers have been working on it, however if and when it will be released
are still mysteries so far. Keep checking the website for details. Tom Edge

Well SlammedBlueEm2's civic looks like its on alloy wheels, mine are just the plastic hubcaps, I could be wrong

and about the Kw Variant 3's - they will supposedly allow you to adjust the low speed dampening I think, from what I've read on here, whereas the Variant 2 just allows the mid to high.

It's going to be a month or so before I get all my stuff together before I buy them, so in a month or so we'll see whats out and if there's an expected time for the v3's to be released.

This one looks MAD TYTE.

EDIT: n/m You guys posted my car before I even realized it. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I was lowered on stock hubs before. It's still better than bigger rims and no drop. When it comes to dropping your car on 15s, it's all about selecting the right sized tire for it.

Most full coilover systems allow you to adjust the front camber angle.

SPC rear camber kit.
