Need help with diagnosis

So the bolt holding my alternator in the bracket snapped in half, so I fixed that. Now my vehicle has a wide variety of symptoms.

2002 Honda Civic EX

Car has trouble starting, stays in limp mode

Shifting in gear selector very hard

AC does not get cool

Tachometer and Temperature Gauge Stay at 0

Car Runs really hot

Check Engine Light Always on, green key immobilizing light always flashing

Car Will not communicate with the port scanner machines they have at auto part stores.

I am not very vehicle inclined. My guy thinks it might be the ECU gone bad. Looking for someone who knows a lot about the car.

Thank you for all the responses!! A little preoccupied at the moment so I may not reply right away, but I do appreciate it.

Re: Need help with diagnosis

Did you disconnect the battery? It certainly sounds like you shorted the ECU.

Re: Need help with diagnosis

Depending on how long the engine was running after that bolt snapped it can certainly fry the ecu
