HELP!! my civic is f***ked

Hey guys i need help real bad with my civic.
first of all this is what happened, i was driving and some how
the alternator bracket on the bottom came off along with the top
bolt in the upper bracket. so my alternator came loose while i was driving.
so any ways. later on i replaced the brackets and bolts and ever since then
its been doing some wierd stuff and its making me crazy. first of all when i first start the car it the check engine light comes on and my tach and temp
guages don't work. i've checked the fuses and a couple connections and those were all fine. also i can't go over ten miles in each gear, meaning
i can only go ten mph in first, 20 mph in second and etc. so i replaced the alternator thinking it was that, unfortuately it wasn't. So i brought it to a guy
i knew at the honda dealership and we hooked up the OBD scanner to see any error codes and to our surprise the computer would not read the scanner or vice versa. so we brought it to another garage and they couldn't figure it out either. one guy suggested we replace the ecu because the one in there
could have been fried when we messed up the alternator. so we got another
ecu and plugged that in and the car would not start. it would just turn over
and then drain the battery. So i'm thinking that there's definitley something wrong with the charging system. right now i have no idea what to do.
hope someone out there has any ideas or suggestions because i don't know what else could be wrong. thanks alot

Carefully check all the plugs and wires under the hood. Chances are that you cut a wire or ground when all this happened. Check all the fuses under the hood and inside the car.
If everything checks out ok, try resetting the ecu and let it do the idle learn for 15 minutes.

Another ECU, btw, won't start the car because of the mismatch between IT and the IMMOBILIZER in the ignition swith. They have to match.

Check everything again. It HAS to be a wire or fuse.
