Angry suspension problems??

I have a 2003 Civic Coupe EX and i recently installed some coilover springs that i purchased off Ebay (item #2417920895) well every thing worked out great on the front wheels but the back wheels, i encountered a major problem. The strut is protruding through the top mounting bracket about 1 1/2" and i don't know if i took the wrong parts off of the rear struts or what but if someone could please help me out with this problem i would greatly appreciate it. If you know if i took too many parts off of it or put the wrong parts back on it or what please email me at mad03civic922ams@aol.com a.s.a.p.

Mad, What all did you take off? I had the same thing happen to me in the back. I took out one too many washers if I remember correctly. You should leave just about everything in there. I ended up bringing mine back to stock because I kept bottoming out due to the springs being too cheap. Saving up for some Teins. Good luck man!

BTW, Check out Mex's DIY if you can't remember in which order it all goes back together.

i took just about every thing off of the strut, i know that there has gotta be something that i am missing out on there. I think that the washer that goes on the strut that was on there a little tight that i had to "persuade" to get off might be the problem but if i don't take that washer off then when i go to put the top bump stop of the coilovers on, i can't get the mounting bracket back on b/c there isn't enough strut. please help more!!!!!!

If I remember correctly I had to remove the large black plastic guide thing. I'm not sure what you'd call it. Also, I'm not sure if I'm understanding you right or not, are you putting the bump stop on top of the upper plate of the coilover?

Is the strut free floating when the weight of the car is on it? Make sure you get the top washer on too. That will give the nut something to tighten to. I left it out the first try on mine and had this happen to me.

Looks like my little picture didn't turn out the way I had hoped. Hopefully you get the idea.

ok you are like totally confusing me, i only have one washer on the whole assembly that goes from the larger diameter of the strut to the smaller diameter piece of the strut, am i missing out on something here????? i just don't know why my strut is bottoming out even when the ride height is almost that of factory setting

okay, how to get this across without a picture... um is the nut on top of the strut flush with the top plate when the strut is in the car and the weight is on it?

Do you have your bump stops in? I didn't see them in the list you sent.

If not try putting them in. Like I said I had to take mine back to factory because it was doing the exact same thing. Sorry I wasn't much help.

are you sure its not your Sleeves? does the rear sleeves have marks on them like they are grinding against the top mounting plate? If so... cut off about 1inch of the top of your sleeve... it will help. I had this problem before i got smart. Save for HAYAME'S
