Tokies on stock springs is pretty nice. Watch craigslist for a deal on a set of stock RSX or used lowering springs and a type-s rear sway bar and you'll improve handling dramatically on a budget.

Can someone tell me more about these coilovers? They're brand new DNA Motoring, and the guy wants $80 for them. I know they're worth less than that. But are they even worth, say $50?
Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
If you're going to drop, do it right the first time otherwise don't do it at all. Stick with the name brands. It's going to be expensive but do you really want to risk your life by going cheap?

Those coilovers are worth $50 and an ambulance ride to the E.R.
But you could always just put them on a shelf to look at them!

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
They're ebay coilover sleeves. If you can get them for a good deal it wouldn't be a bad purchase, because you can swap on a set of proper coilover springs and actually have a decent set up.
Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
I'm definitenly not going to cheap out on suspension. Just wanted to see if it was even worth my time. I'm getting Eibach Sportlines or Tein S (leaning towards the Eibachs), and most likely Tokico blues when I do my suspension.

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
In terms of coilovers, I am admittedly cheaping out a little bit by going with Tein's Basis which is the entry-level model. But at least it's a quality manufacturer. You could get by with ebay coilovers if you swap out a few components here and there, but it's not gonna last you a long time.

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
The thing about ebay coilovers is the sleeve itself isn't really all that bad, it's also a very unlikely failure point, the issue is largely the garbage springs. Replace the garbage springs with hyperco, swift, eibachs and you have a half decent set-up without spending on GC sleeves.

Went from Eibach springs to the GC/Koni Yellows.
Very happy with the way it sits now.
However, the only bad thing is that it doesnt ride like a caddy anymore.
Check out the before and after

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
very nice. are u on the softest setting? the softest setting is pretty soft...a little too soft for my DD taste.
Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
No I went with the stiffer set up. Still no where near the ride quality of the springs, but I still gotta give them time to settle so we'll see.

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
yea I hope they dont blow anytime soon. They do seem to be be saggy but they are suprisingly pretty stiff I dont really have any bounce or body roll,so no i dont bottom out at all.

Re: Official Suspension Drop Pictures Post
Need Advice on my suspension setup...I have a 01 ES1, with Eibach Sportlines and Tokico D-Spec's in the rear, stock struts in the front. I am unhappy with the way my car sits. It rakes back and I have about 1 finger gap in rear and almost 3 in the front. I want 1 finger all around but am not sure if I should just sell what I have and buy coilovers (Progress) or maybe buy front struts and maybe some Ground Control's. From what I have been reading GC's are always suggested to be run with Koni's, will Tokico D-Specs work with GC? I love my D-Specs that I have and would like to buy the fronts but if I won't be able to put a coil over sleeve on them then I would rather not spend the money and get something that will work. Thanks.
