Quick Ingalls Question

Which is better?... polyurethane brushings or rubber brushings on rear camber kit, and why?

the question may not be which is better, but what's your preference. A speed shop told me that you get a more crisp response from the poly bushings, but you'll also recieve more nvh(noise, vibration, harshness). The rubber is not as responsive, but does a better job of controlling nvh. my two cents.

I thought you recently bought a SPC kit? Did you return it?

Nope, haven't purchased a camber kit yet. I'm waiting for that mythical H&R Cup Kit to come out. Then I'll buy - and probably the Ingalls kit (poly rears). Greg at Hondawerx has a good price for both front and rear, $138 shipped. Since my Progress sways have poly bushings, I figure why not just keep going with poly.

poly is made to handle stresses of driving high performance, whereas rubber is designed for show/looks. well you might say..gimme POLY, but as mig said..they do make more noise, but is a result of not lubricating them regularly. so having poly bushings requires you to lubricate every couple of months to maintain peek function and minimize noise. if you don't wanna keep lubricating then get the rubber.

I think since Poly doesn't "squish" as much as rubber, steering and suspension articulation is quicker. When you turn into a corner, a split second is devoted to compressing the bushings before load is transmitted to everything else is. I think they're claiming that the time to compress a poly bushing is less, so they result in crisper handling.

I think there are some greases that come in a syringe type affair. You might investigate these. Might be able to insert it between the metal and bushing and get some in that way. Otherwise I guess you'd have to disassemble and lube.

Yea, I just put both Progress sway bars on, which have poly bushings. And I'm likely to go with the Poly Ingalls. Guess I better figure out soon how I'm going to handle this. I don't see myself doing this amount of disassembly on a routine basis.
