Upgraded suspension -> Sway bar useless?
Honda Style talk on Shocks and Suspension
Take a look at halfway down the page:
So If you have upgraded Shocks and springs it reduces your need for anti-sway bars, in fact if you add them (or put thicker ones in)you can actual reduce your grip, because it is pulling the load/transferring it to reduce roll which is exactly the opposite of what you want, with new shocks and springs.
I made this mistake with my Bilstein/Neuspeed Coilovers. I put a 30mm front sway bar on which is double the thickness of the stock one and all it did was unstick my front tires in hard manuevers. keep it in mind.
No need for thick swap bars for upgraded suspension. Can ppl confirm/agree/disagree this?

Yeah, I guess this applies to, say the thicker RSX sway bar that ppl use... Just wanted to get some opinions. I want to get strut bars too, but debating which brand, or just generic... Then again, upgraded suspension no point to go with crappy strut bars...
As far as strut bars go, you're going to get more opinions than you know what to do with, just like the CAI vs SRI debates. Just do a search on strut bars and you will get plenty of info. I went with a Type X Racing upper strut bar and it works great. I'll probably go with a generic one for the upper rear. It's going to come down to a matter of preference and how much money you want to spend.
Well that guy is talking about a front sway bar. Everyone doing the RSX type S conversion is using the rear sway bar. From what I hear a thicker rear sway bar will help the rear tires lose traction which is good in a FWD car because of the amount of understeer you will experience. Allowing the rear end to come around easier will help your car to handle more neutrally.
I have Koni yellows, and eibach prokit springs, and I put in the rear lower JDM 22mm RSX-R swaybar, and it made the biggest difference in the world. It doesn't make the tires ever brake loose, it allows the rear-end to stay flat instead of flexing while you are cornering real hard.
It was the best suspension mod I ever did for my car. The car feels utterly completely balanced and neutral at low speeds and extremely high speeds. And the car never ever feels like its going to fishtail or loose control.
And I would recommend it to anyone that asks. Besides the EX comes with a stock 25mm swaybar in the front.
I did a review of it at:
