Coil Overs for 2005 EX Coupe
Re: Coil Overs for 2005 EX Coupe
well im on a budget, i took a look at raceland and i see people are saying that those are good and you get what you pay for. i would like them to perform good enough for a daily, doesn't really need to have excessive comfort or be super soft. i guess basically perform close to stock suspension

racelands on a mcpherson front suspension is scary - search for raceland catastrophic failure - safety issue

aftermarket ofr 7th gen cars died down and hard to find good parts (as in safe) look for teins.
too expensive? save money.
Owning cars are more expensive than pleasures.
Have you checkd if it's time for timing belts?
Is your headgasket still good? etc, etc
always keep 2-3k for unplanned expenses when owning a car, things happen
when it hits the fan? a car is just dead weight and will cost you

I’d rather use stock suspension than anything raceland.
If your budget doesn’t permit, save your money. The best budget coilover is probably Tein. Short of any deals, I wouldn’t go cheaper than that.

ah, yeah, the reason you don't see failures in some cars are because they are double wishbone. The shocks are not structural to the suspension geometry - it will crash down when it fails, but not as dramatic as a McPherson suspension, which people calls the shocks "struts", because, well, they are structural to the geometry.
