Talking Ignition coil

Hi,I'm new around here. I need help with my sister's 2000 Honda Civic Ex. I've found the part to fix the problem, but there seems to be two different versions of the ignition coil. One with an actual coil and another with a flat point if that makes sense. Which one is right? Does it matter which one I choose? Thanks in advance for the help

Re: Ignition coil

Best way to find out:
Take yours apart and look.

Honda Parts catalog shows 2 choices:

TEC brand

or HITACHI.

My catalog (USA) shows HX is the only one that uses the HITACHI brand. Kinda resembles a point on the end of it? Hard to tell.

The EX should use the TEC brand.
