OEM suspension stressed
I have been reading alot of material regarding suspensions for the 7th gen civic. However informative this site and the material I have read I still cannot locate the exacting data or any data relative to the performance stresses an oem suspension suffers when pushed to its limits. Anyone know of a location on the web which will give this data clearly and effectively. specificly im looking for the specs or data relative to the performance max stresses of the suspension. I have recently read in here by one of the moderators that many people never exceed the oem suspension specs or that they never drive their cars beyond what the car can handle. I want to know exactly what my car can handle. I have recently been recording speeds and performance around off ramps and on ramps to the interstate systems in La. and Tx. and have found my ability to control effects of 60 to 65mph. with slight understeer issues. Im wondering if an upgraded suspension with regards to performance is even needed. Keep in mind im moving this fast with stock hight and compression ratios. i want to lower the car but have had money issues. so im looking at pieceing the lowering suspension with springs and shocks aposed to fully adjustable one piece units. Any advice in here would be benificial.

Oh yea, I should give a little information regarding the speeds, the quarter turns on to and off of the interstate are regulated sppeed of 45mph and banked slightly. Tires are tread rated at super sticky and performance rated at speeds up to 140mph.

Re: OEM suspension stressed
go to SCCA page and find the nearest autoX when the season starts. 35-40 bucks for a day.
push the car as much as you can and learn how to drive (good driving will load the fronts less than a bad driver, so less understeer).
this should get you the butt-o-meter data yeh need.
