Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Low end torque. I have zero acceleration with the open glasspack. Some backpressure is good for the D17, naturally aspirated. Bends aren't a particularly good thing in an exhaust, but gradual curves are ok. Hard bends reflect exhaust pulses back to the engine.

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
So, I've got to ask..
You have one of the best sets of coilovers available, edfc, the best rear lcas, the best rear sway and brace, the best rear end links, arguably the best strut bars and x-brace, full poly bushings, 6 piston brakes front and rear, ss brake lines... you're running out of things you can mod!
What's next?
Type-R front control arms, camber plates, brake vents?

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Haha. I was just talking to my buddy about that. Brake ducts, seam wells, gutted interior and a full cage has crossed my mind, but I think its time to drop the engine. I am going to trade the K20A for a Z1. Being in California, I can't pass smog legally. With the Z, it would be a little easier. I am saving for ITBs, KPro, mounts and harness. February is the target date. 250whp, naturally aspirated is the goal. We'll see...

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Gutted interior is an awesome modification, massive weight savings and it's essentially free, with the possible exception of a bit of dry ice to remove sound deadening. I wish my gf would let me do it, but she already complains about how harsh the ride is on every rough road. A cage, imho, isn't appropriate for a street car. Big metal bars surrounding your head, even when wrapped with foam padding, have the potential to be extremely dangerous in a crash. Kind of ironic actually, since cages are meant for safety, but varying levels of safety systems just don't work well together. Cages keep becoming more and more popular in street cars, especially the fancy blue Cusco ones, and I rarely ever see the potential safety issues brought up...

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Interesting that the z1 is easier to pass emissions with than the k20a, why?
You should be able to make 250whp with ease with a good set of cams on a k20.

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Went to the tire shop to fix a slow leak coming from my valve stem. Got an opportunity to take a few shots on the lift with the RS*R Exmag back on. Back to a normal mellow rumble.

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
**** for the Suspension Introvert, for sure. Haha.
I love Vancouver. Women are Hot, Beers are Better, People are Nice (except during hockey season), Swaps are Legal. What's not to like?
That's it for the suspension for now. Gonna pick up a Carbing Lower Brace, just for some over the top bling. Gotta concentrate on that K20 swap. Found some inspiration on the net, putting money away for Toda ITBs. Naturally aspirated, all the way.

Ya, that's what I thought when I looked at the picture and made connections with the word. Just making sure :P
Damn, that would be tooooo sick to have. I could just imagine the improvements it would make.

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Just came accross this while I was on the A Spec Racing website. There's a brace only option that allows you to use OEM or aftermarket swaybars. It's shorter and doesn't interfere with the exhaust.

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
I have a theory that subframe braces are completely unnecessary on our cars, except a solid 32mm, then it would definitely necessary haha
Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
wow, this car looks excellent. and not only does it look excellent, but it sounds like it performs well. exciting to see all the modifications come together so effectively. hard work does pay off!

Re: Future Rear Suspension Swap
Hockey season is amazing, everyone is happy and partying in the streets when we win, we just take losses a bit.. hard. If you stick a Flames flag in your car window during play offs though, you're asking to get run into a ditch.
Did you use subframe braces with all those bars?
