D2 front coilover damanged?

Okay so i went for an inspection sticker a week ago and the guy told me i had some play in my right wheel failed me for it. I take off wheel and see what i see and i notice the cv boot is leaking grease its not ripped but yeah. I got a new axle but today i thought it was the tie rod but the closer i look at it you can see the piston in the shock move/// is this right? they are under warrenty and the guy at d2 told me to take it all apart and see if i can see the problem. it sucks. Maybe the spring isnt tight// idk

any ideas? and there is alot of play.... guys here at my honda dealership said the shock is toast
