Sitting at 83k miles. Do I need shocks/struts and what are the best?

Car still rides okay for the most part. I don't plan on lowering it so safe to say springs are okay until I am done with the car? How would I really check the shocks/struts? What would give me the best ride for the money?

Last question... Anyone have a DIY on replacing them and part numbers/specs on the suggested replacement pieces?

Thanks!

easiest way is open trunk and hood, and push the car down hard on each side. if it bounces and takes more than one bounce to come right back up, or responds slowly, your shocks are bad.go with some tokico HP (blue) they are much better than stock. spring is pretty much lifetime part.

I don't know about part numbers, but Mex put together a sick write-up for installing lowering springs. I would think you could follow it just the same to install your new struts, just keeping the factory springs.
