why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
Hey guys been a really long time since i've been on here. I was tlaking to some coworkers today and asking them the same question. I have eibach sportline springs, adjustable camber front and rear. I've had the springs on for like 3 or 4 years, and every 6 months or so I have to have it readjusted because the camber is leaned in to the point of wearing out the tires on the inside. So how come after all this time im still having to have it readjusted what causes it the camber to pull back in so much??
Re: why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
u keep having it done at the same shop?? if so they might suck at alignments, but thats about how often i have to get mine done too, do the roads suck by u?? they do here, and thats what ****s me

what kind of camber kit do you have? the cheaper ones you'll find on ebay and such tend to not hold setting for as long as quality ones, such as SPC.

the cam bolts dont hold their setting... so you have to re-align it. Hit less potholes.

Yeah I stay away from potholes at all costs. But most of the interstate down here is pretty bad. thanks to the big trucks and all the weight they carry. I can see how the cam bolts would mess up. What about the rear I cant remember what brand they are, I got them a long time ago at a local shop. Yeah I do get it done at the same shop. They're pretty good at the alignment they give you a print out and all that stuff. Is this normal though that once you lower you just have to keep adjusting the camber?? Or is their a way to keep from having to do that?

honestly i'd just go somewhere that offers lifetime alignments. they usually cost about the price of three alignments or so, but you can take your car in as many times as you want, whenever, as long as you have it.

^ the shops around here, like firestone, that give lifetimes, dont offer lifetimes on lowered cars...

do you really want a shop that offers lifetime alignment to work on your car tho lol. i wouldnt be caught dead at a firestone. 1 year is average time for getting the alignment done anyways. if youre needing it sooner, its due to driving habits or road conditions.
Re: why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
Well I have one other question then. What changes on the car that causes the camber to turn back in? I understand the cam bolts would move in the front. The rear adjustable arm has lock nuts on both sides though I just dont see how it could move on its on. And I dont see how the springs could still be settling after 4 years. So maybe you guys can help me.
Re: why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
ones around here also do it on lowered cars too, some with the completely flat alignment racks. guess it just depends on where you live.
Re: why do I have to adjust camber every 6 months?????
i got my first alignment done after owning the car for 5 years...
and that's only because i lowered it...even then, toe spec wasn't off by much...the car still drove perfectly straight
as for the camber settings changing, rear camber arms have bolts you're supposed to tighten after setting the camber..did you make sure the shop did do that?
