ok so i got a Megan rear upper strut bar today..for 01-05 honda civics..umm ok i tried putting it in today and i duno if its just me but the bolts that i THINK it should bolt up to are not right...either that or im looking at the wrong set of bolts that i need to bolt it too...has anybody ever put in a rear upper strut bar that was actually made for our cars and not modified...any pics of where it shoudl go? this thing didnt come with directions...thanks anybdoy

directions for a rear strut bar??

this should bolt straight into the rear top towers of the strut in your trunk. There is basically only one place to bolt up the rear upper strut inside the trunk.

Unbolt and rebolt. If it doesn't fit, then you got a wrong strut bar or megan fitment is off on that particular one.

I got a spoon rear upper strut and it fits perfectly on the top rear towers

There's only 2 bolts it can go on. Disconnect the cross bar, put the end plates on, then put the cross bar in, then tighten it all down. If you tighten something down before its all in, it wont fit. They're intended to fit really tight if they're going to be useful for something.

u would think i would get that...rear UPPER.....STRUT.......bar.........i was looking at the bolts that are like above that up against the aluminum wall behind ur seats....theres two bolts that it looks liek it could work on but theyre liek off...duh...sorry everyone lol thanks for at least helpin out.. u coulda jus like shot me or something..thanks anyway. lmao

watd u mean they arent of much use? i sitll havnt even put mine on cuz i cant get off the stupid bolts. i had a buncha tools n um THEYRE GONE..well not all jus the extended sockets. i tried taking a wrench to it and it wouldnt budge. i need to stop dreaming of my honda being car of the year and start working out huh

I installed mine, but i did notice that the plates didn't fit exactly right. There is like some metal part (of the trunk i guess) that prevents the plate from sitting exactly level to the bolts. When I actually torqued the bolts down, I think the plate just bent into place. I donno if anyone else had this problem, but I couldn't find any way around it (?)... So far I haven't had any problems, but I wonder if theres a way to avoid this...

oh please give me something so i cant be so lazy...actually now i rmemeber why i never put it on. i dont have any tools. i need a deep socket to loosen up those bolts on top of the rear strut. i have the right socket, but when i put it on it wont go all the way down. sum1 stole my tools awhile ago and i have my old set with all the crappy things i dont need in my room. soo i duno...i have to take a trip to sears

i would say i was impressed by my rear upper strut bar. i also got the megan and i also had to torque down to make the bracket fit flat. after i installed the bar i realized how worn out my struts are. my back end is so much more bouncy because the trunk is stiff on top of it. if that makes sense. it helped the car steer quicker as well. i really need to get new springs and struts now. see what its supposed to handle like. i also have the megan lower installed if that makes a difference. i did the lower first

Cut a little off the bottom of your SRI pipe. Makes it shorter, will then clear the strut bar. As much as I like the Megan, if I can find the DC one in blue, I'm gonna buy it.
