Skunk2 has a set of coil- overs on their website for a little less than $800. Depends on what your're going to do with car, if your going to road race get coil-overs, if your just driving around on the street get a good set of struts (KYB, Koni, Tanabe, etc) and get a set of lowering springs, sway bars and strut tower braces and urethane bushings. This is what i've been told, hope I helped.
Coilovers are still useful for road use, theres nothing wrong with using coilovers.
They are easier to fit, and easily adjustable. Having an all in one unit is alot better than going seperate struts and springs.
You'd notice a massive difference if you got coilovers.
Again, as someone mentioned, Koni are one of the leading brands in this field.

i've noticed that drop springs are NOT AT ALL WORTH IT...... they are a cheap way to lower your car.. by the time you buy a good set of drop springs (we'l say $250) and a good set of adjustable rate struts (run about 150 each for tokicos) you're lookin' at $850 so why not go ahead and spend $900 or 1000 on a good set of fully adjustable coil overs? now keep in mind, there area always cheap ways to do things, but in the automotive industry, you get what you pay for... and as far as suggestions, ground control and tein make EXCELENT products
Neuspeed also makes a pretty good set of coilovers for the honda civic and they utilize the koni threaded body struts as well. and they'll set you back around $850 US plus shipping and handling...not to mention they also have a complete set of front and rear upper and lower sway/tie/strut bars, that would really help you with body lean. I have a 97 EK and without them on there the car has some nasty bad body roll...got the order put in for the coilovers and bars and a good roll cage from autopower should be coming in soon.
I would use the same rules for road driving as for street racing BECAUSE they can be one and the same at the drop of a hat. Yes there is a small price differential between drop struts and coil overs.
I suggest driving somebody else's ride with these modifications and seeing what the feel of the car is like. Better know before you install......
