Stupid question, but need quick reply
Are shock absorbers the same thing as shocks/struts? My Tokico Blues were installed last year but they don't seem to take any bumps on the road very well, feels like not much of anything is absorbing the bumps, I looked at the Blues and I don't see any leaking or wetness. So I'm wondering if the shock absorber (if its different) wasn't installed right or the shocks themselves. Thanks.

Yes and no. Shock absorbers are usually installed into struts. If you look at the front suspension you will see the shock absorber in the middle with a bottom strut. For instance, Koni inserts are the shocks whereas you keep the stock strut to put the insert into. Tokicos are one piece with both shock and strut.
They are going to be stiffer than stock, end of story. When you add the springs things will get rougher. Such is the nature of ****ing with your car.

easy way to describe it. All Struts are shocks, but not all shocks are struts...
BTW, Shock Absorbers are kind of mis-named, as they dont really absorb any shock's, but rather dampin the occilations (bouncing) of the springs. So a better name for them is a "Damper".
as far as ride quality, Tokicos are stiffer then the stock dampers, so they will ride a bit firmer.
Other wise what wheel/tire combo do you have and what PSI are the tires set to?
