+1.5 degrees camber
+1.5 degrees camber
i went to get an alignement today and they told me my front left has 1.5 degrees positive camber. he suggested i fix this first and suggested that either the whole cradle shifted, the knuckle bent, or the ball joint is trashed. but it is nothing noticable by just taking the wheel off. the whole thing about the cradle shifting, im not gonna go there and just hope its not that. the knuckle visibly looks good. so he said he thinks its most likely the ball joint. now the ball joint if i remember is what connects the knuckle to the lower control arm. i dont see how that would cause this positive camber. and when i replaced the lca i had to press that ball joint back in and it looked straight to me. so i figure he was talking about #7 on this page here. he said when i take it off and spin the axle i will see it wobble if its that. basically, i was wondering if its possible for it to be this. i have taken the boot off right behind the brake and spin the axle and look and see whats going on in there but it all looks good. when i turn right and apply some acceleration my car makes a strange noise, almost sounds like the tires are rubbing, but i know thats not it. i think it may be this. any tips before i disect this thing? do i need to press that ball thing back in? thanks.
