RSX-Civic Sway Bar Swap

So my mom drives a base model rsx, i was planning on stealing her 19mm rear sway bar to put on my 02. i know i need to use the 19mm bushings with the rsx bar on the civic, i am assuming i would be able to put the civics sway bar(i believe is a 12mm) on her car with 12mm bushings without a problem. Right? this wont cause a major difference on the rsx for a 50 year old mother would it? she takes corners like an old lady so i figured she wouldnt miss it. I just want to make sure my civic sway bar will fit on her car before going through the work. Thanks

Sure and while you're at it you should check her purse for loose 20's

hey dude, why dont you just give it a shot and tell us. im interested in this, and well, you have access to do it. so do a little experimenting. its not like anything could go wrong, right? besides, half the time i take advice from other people here it ends up being wrong.

Why don't you just go buy your own? Less than $70 all told if you get a used bar and bushings. Just make sure your mom is cool with it, worst case scenario is if she gets in an accident and insurance sees there's been an alteration in the suspension, they might not fix it for her. If she corners like a gramma I don't see her missing the bar that much and your stocker should fit just fine.

I don't think he meant "stealing" in the literal sense. I highly doubt he could "steal" suspension parts off of her car without her noticing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking he's just gonna swap them, with approval.

base model RSX doesnt have a 19mm bar, more like 17-18mm.

the RSX has a SWay bar that size for a reason. leave it that way and just buy one.
