Eibach's and Koni's too high in the front?
Just got done installing some eibach sportline springs and koni struts/shocks on an 01 coupe. The rear is absolutely perfect, but it was done about two weeks ago. The front was just completed maybe an hour ago, and is sitting up really high. Much higher than the rear actually. Did anyone else have this problem, and how much do you think these might settle?
And i keep hearing about this tow setting on the koni's? How does that work?
Thanks,
James

My cars on sportlines and Konis... does it look like this?

I dont have very many Non-action shots...
WOOT! 3 wheels! :P

(shameless self plug)
about the tow thing...
There are two rings on the rear koni dampers. the lower ring is the "stock" ride height, the upper is for towing (giving you more rear suspension travel)

In the first pic, the front looks the same as yours, but the rear looks lower. In your second pic, the front of my g/f's car looks higher.
I will try and get some pics up soon, and hopefully the fronts settle a bunch or else a coil is comin out.
What color were your sportlines? Mine are a deep red.
Would cutting one full coil off each of the fronts affect anything? I would like to take an extra inch off the front ride height, and if they don't settle an inch in two weeks, i'll probably be cutting them.
I was able to snap a quick pic of the car today, coming home from tri state:
whoops:

Also, the car had some tenzo r coilovers on stock struts and shocks before, and the struts and shocks were completely blown. So that was the whole reason for all of this. I must say that the ride quality is not very good at all with this setup, i can feel every single bump and line in the road.
But compared to the previous coilovers, there is only one word to describe it...STIFF. The suspension feels so stiff and the car is so flat whenever you turn. I was just hoping for a better ride quality than this.

Well i'm not even too concerned about the ride because its 50x better than before.
So does anyone know if cutting one coil off the front spring will affect the springs ability or hurt the car in any way??

If you could get a shot from straight on the passenger side, and kneel down on the ground so it will be eye level. It will still be hard to tell because you have stock wheels on the car.

Lil tuning 101 with konis.
Konis only adjust rebound valving which is really good for tuning handing, not so good for tuning ride qualtiy. but heres the handling tuning theory.
Increase the valving on the end of the car you want to have stick less and/or decrease the valving on the end of the car you want to have stick more.
Meaning, if the car understeers too much increase the valving at the rear and/or decrease the valving at the front. do the opposite if the car oversteers too much.
and Yes, you can cut "dead" coils off the springs, just dont cut any of the live coils.
