camber plates :p

So I finally broke down and bought some camber plates... now that Hotchkiss "Finally" droped the price on them to a reasonable level... $187.47 Vs the original price of $374.95

http://www.hotchkistuning.com/cgi-bi...atalogno=30704

Just got them to day... I'd have to say that I have yet to be unsatisfied with the build quality of any thing I've purchased form Hotchkis (I have their 25.4mm rear anti-roll bar). Only thing I'm worried about would be what I have to modify to make them work with my Neuspeed struttower bar.

Now, if I can talk my friend in to parting wiht his ground controls....

Picks soon, when I'm not being lazy.

I wish you luck. I know there's not much you can do and retain the OEM spring size, but be careful with the over/under sandwich type orientation of the plates... they can be very fickle and fragile.

Just piecing the suspension together one part at a time.

I'm about to the point of how much more $$ do I want to put in to a car thats not going to make me Compeditive... So, going to ground control springs is probably the last thing I do. aside from tweaking the spring rates on the ground controls a bit.

OH ya, Going to have to get rear suspension bushings soon too... as the OEM ones are completly shot at this point.

True, but I dont have a lathe, Mill or other needed tools to make a set.... I have been thinking about Modifying them (replacing the Aluminum top) with a Steel one that would allow Caster adjustments.... all in good time.

Its a fairly precision part. It would take some pretty good machining knowhow (you'd need a mill, a lathe and a press for the pillowball) and a good CNC to make an identical pair. By the time you went through the trouble.... $175 isn't so bad.

are these Hotchkis better than the Tein ones?
or any reason why you buy these instead of the Tein ones?

The tein ones are of a better design. I doubt the quality of construction is any different between the two. The hotchkis ones bolt right on, where as the tein ones need custom hardware.

There is also the difference that the Tein ones have a pillow ball mount and the Hotchkis ones are of a more "stock" style with Derlin rather then rubber as the isolator
