B+G suspension problems...
Hey everyone.
I recently went to get my car aligned and the guy doing the alignment said there was something wrong with my front right strut. He thinks that the strut is too loose, because when he pushed on the disk brake he could feel the suspension strut moving around, and that my wheel would be wobbly. I checked it out myself and also noticed how it seems loose. I checked the center bolt on the top and it is tight enough. I checked both fronts and the other ones does a similar thing. Its like where the strut meets up with the body of the shock there is a little bit of motion. Does this sound normal to anyone?
Thanks alot...if not then B+G better warranty these bitches.

If the shock is an adjustable length body (3 locknuts on it), then you need to crank the one that locks the lower bracket on tighter. Put the spanner wrench on then tap it with a hammer so its tight.

^^yeah the spanner things are super tight...but its higher up that seems loose. Like when u move it it's like its pivoting near the top...like near where the helper spring and main spring come into contact.

Hmmm.... so with the wheel off, if you yank on the brake rotor it wiggles up near the top?
B&G uses stock upper mounts right? I'm gonna have to think about this one. Up near where you think its wiggling from, are there any joints between parts where you can pick up any slop? Or is it way up top near the top mount to the car?

^its like halfway up...I pushed up the ruber boot and put my finger on the actual strut "bar" and had my friend push back and forth (without turning the disk as in left and right turning) and i could feel it moving a bit. Like the whole thing should be a unit...ive been looking for pics of the b+g suspension but cant find any.

did you install the upper mounts properly when you installed them? there is a certain order that the retainers go on that lay between the upper mounts and the body. it sounds like thats where your problem is. they shouldnt move at all.

^yah im pretty sure they are in right. Im not getting any movement from the upper mounts. Here is the spot from the picture posted above (Thanks for the pic!!)
Also I dont know if this matters or not, but my helper spring on the fronts is mounted on the top, and not on the bottom. Thats the way they came packaged so maybe they just re-designed the fronts.

^^really? that makes no sense...i doubt they re-designed the coilovers 3 times already...honestly i think the helper spring is useless. Even tho im not positive what it does it is always fully compressed. Seems useless to me but maybe im a nub...lol

i dunno - looking at where you highlighted the shock, that looks like a valve issue which would be in the coilover itself - nothing you can do about that but send it back. they have a lifetime warranty.
