Just got my Cusco Rear Strut Bar in and was following the DIY posted by Boilermaker1. Every step is covered in the DIY except for the right side frame hole. May I drill through that piece partially covering the hole (to insert a tee nut) or not? Is there anything vital behind that metal piece?
Thanks!

I don't think anything vital is back there.... it looks to be just a reinforcement for the seat backs, but it extends quite a bit beyond where its visible in that hole. I've since disconnected both frame mounts, they don't seem to add any rigidity to the bar.

I went ahead and did it anyways. I drilled through that metal piece blocking the right side hole. Gradually worked my way up to a 3/8" cobalt dill bit. I had to buy a drill and some bits first. The drilling was kind of tricky because you are trying to drill though some 90 degree angled metal that only covers half of the opening. Plus you don't want to jack up or enlarge this existing hole. FYI there is nothing under that metal piece to worry about. Anyways I JB welded the both nuts (waited 48 hours to cure just to be safe) and will be installing the bar in tonight.
