Exclamation drop terms?

i dont understand some terms that you guys use. i have a question about some terms that are used when talking about lowered cars. when people say they have a 1.7 drop how does that mean. and where do you measure from and ect. from the floor, on the shock, on the spring, or what. please help me here. i just got tokico shocks and they say it can only handle 1.7 so i want to know how to measure this.

It is 1.7 inches lower than stock. Usually it is measured from the fender well to the ground, but it must be a completely flat surface. They take the measurement of stock, then put the lowering springs on, wait for them to settle and then take another measurement. The difference is how far the car is dropped. The springs you get should be no more than a 1.7 inch drop. Read the suspension FAQ for a list of springs and their respective drops.
