D2 banging, Progress spring swap?

D2 banging, Progress spring swap?
okay so i have the D2 banging issue. Im trying to fix it the most costless way possible.
Some ppl don't have banging with D2 and short rear springs, but i beleive this is so becuase they dont have a ton of stereo and MDF in their trunk like i do.
I beleive the rear spring is supposed to be 8k in stiffness but its extremely short to allow for lowering.
I pretty much narrowed it down to needing a taller spring that is atleast 8K in stiffness.
I have some left over rear progress springs. Would this fit?
The representative at progress told me the springs are rated.
Spring rates are:
front 145#/in
rear 350#/in
What does that equal in the "K" measurement? Which i beleive is kg/mm ? WOuld the rear progress spring be stiff enough? I know for a fact its taller then my current short spring/helper spring combo.

If the springs on the D2s are linear then progress springs won't work. Plus they are probably taller and wider than the D2s. I would have to say no.

Rep Power: 412 full coilover springs are different than regular springs. The regular springs have to work with the McPherson strut whereas coilover springs are not as wide because they have their own perch.

Rep Power: 334 Thats what my new short spring looked like. It was about 8 inches in hieght without any load. But that "helper" spring compressed to be like 1 or 1.5 inches high. its always compressed under the cars weight. So the overall spring under normal car load is really short. This makes my strut travel minimal. Even more so with actual people and stereo or groceries in the rear.
UrbanImport beleives the springs are 2.5 inch in diametere so it will work. PM'ed You!

Rep Power: 424 It sounds like the problem you have is that you don't have enough spring rate. Going to a longer spring with the same rate won't do a whole lot, it'll still compress quite a bit in a static position. If you've got a lot of weight in the trunk, you probably ought to look into a heavier rate to support the extra weight.

Rep Power: 412 Mike has junk in the trunk...shake what your momma gave ya! haha. I agree with boilermaker. seems like you are bottoming out. A taller, heavier spring might help.
